She Dropped 17 Pounds After Changing Her Morning Coffee Recipe

This morning drink kept her hunger at bay.

Cooking_At_Pams_Place3

Pam is a self-taught cook and social media influencer who has amassed over one million subscribers on her YouTube channel, Cooking at Pam's Place. In one of her viral videos, she opens up about her weight loss, revealing that one simple drink was responsible for it. “Today we are getting ready to make a recipe that I have used to lose 17 pounds,” she claims in the clip.

Here Are the Ingredients for Bulletproof Coffee

“What we're actually going to be making today is called Bulletproof Coffee. It is a drink, and the things you're going to need for this drink will be butter and MCT oil if you can find it. If not, coconut oil is used because MCT oil is a medium-chain triglyceride, and it's actually a fat found in coconut oil and palm oil. You'll also need some coffee,” she says in her post.

Start By Brewing Coffee

You start by making a cup of coffee, “however you like to make it,” she says. “Sometimes I put sweetener in it, and sometimes I don't. You can use something like coconut sugar or swerve, or even Stevia will work,” she says.

The Butter and MCT Oil Keep You Full, She Says

She continues to explain that during her weight loss, she “wasn't doing any other extra exercises” and was eating regular food. “The reason it helped me and me alone is because it kept me full because of the butter and the MCT oil that is in this recipe, which kept me full for eight hours. And then when I did get ready to eat, I didn't eat much because, well, I was still full,” she says.

Melt the MCT Oil and Butter in Hot Coffee

She starts by putting her butter and MCT oil in the coffee to melt it. “It's two parts butter to one part MCT oil,” she says. “I have two tablespoons of butter, and I have one tablespoon of MCT oil.” She recommends organic butter. “The better butter that you have, the better it is for you. So try to get that if you can. If not, go with whatever butter you have.”

Then, Blend It Up

“Go ahead and pour your coffee in while it's nice and hot, and we're going to blend this on high until it's nice and frothy. It only takes a minute or so,” she says. “If you're going to use a sweetener after you blend it just a little bit like that, you want to go ahead and add your sweetener in. Now, I am going to add some coconut sugar in here today just for you guys. I'm going to add about half of a tablespoon full. As you can see, it frothed up, and it foamed up a little bit.”

Drink It Right Away

Now, it’s ready to consume. “You also want to drink this right away. It's going to froth up, and you want that frothiness and earthiness for the whole dish. So drink it right away,” she says.

What Is Bulletproof Coffee

Dave AspreyDave Asprey

Bulletproof coffee was popularized by Dave Asprey, a health science entrepreneur, bestselling author, and the ‘Father of biohacking,’ an expert on healthy but sustainable habits. It is nicknamed keto coffee, as it was designed to work on a fat fast and serve as a liquid breakfast.

Why MCT Oil and Grass Fed Butter Are Key for Weight Loss

Asprey recently explained to Body Network that eating more stable fats and ditching seed oils like sunflower oil, canola oil, and soybean oil is key. “These are high in oxidized omega-6 fats, which cause inflammation in your body. I recommend getting most of your fats from grass-fed butter or ghee, grass-fed tallow, and MCT oil. The rest of your fats can include monounsaturated fat from extra virgin olive oil and omega-3s from grass-fed beef or wild-caught seafood.”

There is also research that shows that grass-fed butter, high in CLA (conjugated linolenic acid), may help with weight loss. A review of 18 human studies showed that compared to a placebo supplementing with 3.2 grams daily resulted in a loss of 0.11 lbs per week, approximately half a pound per month.

If you have a lot of weight to lose, it may seem overwhelming. However, one woman claims that she lost 50 pounds just by making a few simple changes to her lifestyle. Dils Lee (@dilshealth) topped the scales at 192 pounds, wearing a size 16, in July 2021. However, she made four lifestyle habit changes, which not only aided in weight loss but were a game-changer in her overall health, reducing her inflammation and balancing her hormones. Here are the changes she made and what the Body Network’s Resident RDN, The Diet Diva, Tara Collingwood, MS, RDN, CSSD, LD/N, ACSM-CPT, a Board Certified Sports Dietitian, co-author of the Flat Belly Cookbook for Dummies, thinks about them.

She Stopped Drinking Coffee on an Empty Stomach

One of the first changes that she made? “I stopped drinking coffee on an empty stomach and started making my breakfast look like this,” she said. “Drinking coffee on an empty stomach can lead to bloating, nausea, and anxiety, and it can also raise your cortisol levels, which can negatively impact ovulation weight and hormonal imbalances.”

She Switched From HIIT to Lower Intensity

Dils_Lee_dilshealth3dilshealth/Instagram

The second change that she made “was stopping all high intensity training while I was losing weight,” she said. “I found that I harbored a lot of inflammation in my face, arms, body, stomach, and legs everywhere.” Instead, she opted for lower intensity training. “Basically, by switching to lower intensity workouts, I've found that my waist has drastically come in. My stomach is much more flat, and I'm actually building a lot of tone and muscle in my arms and legs,” she says.

She Stopped Restricting Food

Dils_Lee_dilshealth2dilshealth/Instagram

“The third thing I stopped doing was restricting food,” she reveals. “While I was going to the gym, I would sit around 1,000 to 1,200 calories and I would severely restrict my eating. Now I'm up to 1,500 calories, still in a calorie deficit, and focusing on low carb and high protein macros that help nourish and support my body.”

She Focused On Her Sleep Health

“The fourth change that I made is that I introduced a healthy sleep routine,” she reveals. “My routine includes using supplements like magnesium and then not using my phone an hour before bed. Prioritizing sleep will help your body recover after physical activity. It'll also help with hormone regulation, metabolic regulation, stress and emotional wellbeing.”

Body Network's Expert Weighs on Coffee and Exercise

“Having breakfast is important to kick start the metabolism for the day and having caffeine along with food can help to reduce the potential negative effects and sharp spike in cortisol that you might get from drinking it alone. Some people do feel nauseous when drinking coffee on an empty stomach, but of course everyone is different with how they react,” says Collingwood about drinking coffee on an empty stomach. As for a mix of high and low intensity exercise, it is “best for weight loss and stress release,” says Collingwood. “Lower intensity is definitely easier on the body but you also will burn fewer calories than the high intensity exercise.”

Expert Weighs in on Diet and Sleep

Collingwood also agrees that eating too few calories can cause the body to conserve and reduce metabolism, “which is the opposite of what you are trying to do when trying to lose weight,” she says. “Finding that healthy balance of a deficit of calories but not too strict is key.” And she agrees that “sleep is absolutely essential to recovery of your muscles and tissues but also to help with controlling appetite and various hormones.”

Yes, you can lose weight without extreme dieting or exercise, claims one weight loss warrior. Katie Tufte is a mom and influencer whose mission is “helping moms conquer weight loss, energy, support cortisol and GLP-1 naturally.” In a new video, she reveals a few simple tweaks she made to her routine that were game-changing for weight loss. “I’m down 35 pounds. Here’s how,” she writes across the video. “How I did it when I discovered I was dealing with high cortisol, I felt stuck—like nothing was working for me. But I made a few key changes to my daily routine that helped me lower cortisol naturally and finally start losing weight. Here’s What I Did,” she writes.

She Started Walking More

The first thing she did? “Less Intense Workouts,” she writes in her post. One of her things she changed was that she “started walking…a lot!” Does walking help with weight loss? A 2018 study published in the journal Obesity found a link between walking 10,000 steps a day and weight loss and weight management. Other studies published by the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) in JAMA Neurology and in JAMA Internal Medicine also linked walking 10,000 steps a day to less dementia and less cardiovascular disease overall, with less heart disease, less heart failure and fewer strokes.

She Drank More Water

Hydration was also key. She drank “more water with minerals,” she writes. “Staying hydrated with electrolytes.” How much water do you need to drink? According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.

She Prioritized Sleep

Next on her list? Getting enough rest, starting with an early bedtime. “Prioritizing sleep is crucial for stress relief and hormone balance,” she writes.

She Changed Her Diet

And while she didn’t diet, a diet change was very important. “I started eating balanced meals, focusing on protein to stabilize my blood sugar,” she writes. Research has found that consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

She Started Taking Supplements

She also started taking a cortisol-supporting supplement. “This was the game-changer that helped manage my stress levels effectively,” she writes.

She Lost 30 Pounds in 6 Months

“Within 6 months, I lost 30 pounds that I’d been struggling with for years, and my energy levels came back! And about a year later, I added in gut health and lost another 5!” she writes. “By supporting your cortisol levels and gut health, you can finally break free from the cycle of stress and weight gain.”

She Also Replaced Intense Cardio with Low Impact Weight Training

She also switched up her approach to exercise, she revealed in another post. “Ditched intense cardio for low-impact weight training,” she writes. “This helped me build muscle, boost metabolism, and reduce the stress on my body.”

And, Changed Her Morning Routine

She decided to change her approach, and she wrote in a post. “It wasn’t until I switched up my morning routine—focusing on supporting my hormones rather than restricting my diet—that I saw real, lasting changes,” she said. Here is what she started prioritizing. And if you enjoyed this article, take advantage of these 15 Quick Ways to Lose Body Fat Percentage in a Week.

Indya Ago Lost 120 Pounds by Learning How to Have a “Balanced” Approach to Food

@indyaagos

Something I tell my clients when they first start coaching with me is that in order for these results to be sustainable we have to create balance. when I first started my weight loss journey, I used to restrict myself so much, I would demonize so many different kinds of foods that diet culture had brainwashed me, and into believing were the reason why I wasn’t able to reach the results I was looking for. Which just led me to cycles of binging, and creating a very unhealthy relationship between nutrition and my body. Through proper education on macronutrients, I was able to heal this relationship. And this is how I help my clients and maintain their goals as well. Education is power. WIEIAD DEETS: 💚 breakfast: protein, pancakes, egg, white scramble, turkey bacon 💚 snack: fruit, salad, and protein smoothie 💚 lunch: birria tacos + veg 💚 dinner: seafood boil Babe, if you’re ready to finally create a lifestyle transformation that’s sustainable while still eating all of the foods that you enjoy, I would love to work with you. She “Started Slow” and Learned “Self-Trust”

@indyaagos

If you wanna lose 80 pounds next year, I’m gonna tell you exactly how to do it! No gatekeeping the secret to success here. The number one thing that you need to get clear on, is the amount of time it’s going to take you to achieve your goal, the amount of effort required for you to get there, and, of course, why it’s so important to you. Setting a realistic expectation for yourself, while also simultaneously connecting with your why is the first step to create the foundation. You need to be successful through 2024. When you understand that this journey is going to take time, it’s going to require sacrifice, it’s going to require you stepping so far out of your comfort zone, that you may be paralyzed by fear at times. But being okay with the discomfort. Surrendering to knowing that in those moments of uncertainty, in those moments of insecurity, and discomfort, are facilitating growth. Connecting with knowing that, allowing yourself to grow, is what is going to help you reach your goals. And not only reach your goals, sustain those achievements. Baby, 2024 can be your year, and the first thing that you need to do, is get your mindset right. Know why you’re on this journey, know what you need to do to get from point A to point B, and set yourself up for success. Start building the mindset, habits, and routines into your daily life now in order to be successful 2024. and if you’re ready to take the next step, you’re ready to invest in yourself. I’m now accepting applications for January. The link is in my bio let’s get to work!🤘🏽 #weightlosstransformation #weightlosstips #weightlossjourney #weightlossgoals #weightlosscoach #weightlosshelp #weightlosschallenge #fatlosstips #fatlossjourney #nutritiontips #mindsetcoach #newyearsresolution #newyearnewme #nutritioncoach #fitnesscoach

In another video, Indya reveals another tactic that helped her lose so much weight. “You got to start slow,” she says. “If you approach this from an all or nothing mentality, you are only setting yourself up for failure. A big part of this journey is regaining self-trust. You are so used to letting yourself down. The way that you build trust with yourself again is by following through with the promises that you've made to yourself.”

And Took a Deep Dive Into Her Failed Attempts at Weight Loss

Another thing she did is “going to require you to dig deep,” she says. “We need to figure out what your main excuses or your repeated point of failure chances are. You've been stuck in the same exact cycle, repeating the same narratives as to why you haven't been able to be successful in the past. If your story is that you never have any time, then we need to figure out why you're not prioritizing making time. People make time for what's important to them. If the story is that you are overwhelmed and you have no idea where to start, then it is time to reach out for help so that you have a plan of action as well as guidance.”

Raven Norwood Lost 165 Pounds By Cutting Processed Foods From Her Diet

Raven_Norwood_rowwithraven1rowwithraven/Instagram

Raven Norwood, 28, of Huntington Beach, California, started her weight loss journey at 212 pounds and has managed to drop down to 155 pounds, losing 165 pounds in two years. In an interview with Body Network, she explains that she used to eat food containing several dyes, fast food, and packaged food with GMOs, too much MSG, and preservatives. While she didn’t eliminate “any specific food groups because balance is the key to longevity,” she did cut the above from her diet and started cooking her own meals “as much as possible.” Creating healthy relationships with all food groups is so important when it comes to keeping the weight off, she stresses. “Balance is key, so, if I want a cookie here and there, I eat the cookie… no biggie!”

She Also Amped Up Her Water Intake

Raven_Norwood_rowwithraven2raven.grl/Instagram

Raven adds that “lots of water” keeps her hydrated and feeling full. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

She Fell in Love with a Boutique Fitness Method

Raven_Norwood_rowwithraven4raven.grl/Instagram

Raven also encourages finding a fitness form that you love. She discovered rowing at her local Row House. “I love how boutique and specialized gyms are getting more recognition! When I first found Row House, I had never seen a gym dedicated to rowing,” she says. “And on top of that you get floorwork exercises, group fitness and the wonderful community that comes along with it! I think a lot of people would benefit from boutique gyms.”

She Took Progress Pictures

Raven_Norwood_rowwithraven6raven.grl/Instagram

Progress photos were also an important part of Raven’s weight loss journey. “Sometimes your mind will play tricks on you, and make you feel like you haven’t done as much as you have,” she says. If she feels discouraged, she will look at her “Day 1” photo and it will provide instant motivation. “Take photos because your mind will play tricks on you, but those photos won’t,” she says.

He does “harder” push ups, he says. “It's not enough to just do as many as you can and do them fast. Alexandra Lost 40 Pounds by Eating the Same Meals Every Day

Online fitness coach Alexandra (@alexx.fitt) personally lost 40 pounds by eating the same meals daily. “For 1-2 months I ate the same meals every single day why? Because I was confused I didn’t know what to eat or where to start so I ate the same thing everyday,” Alexandra confesses in the caption of her video.

She Also Walks 10,000 Steps a Day

In another video she reveals that walking 10,000 steps a day was also key. “I weigh around 150lbs so walking 10k steps burns an extra 300-400 calories a day without spending hours on the stair master,” says Alexandra. “Walking can be done anywhere you don’t have to get fancy gym clothes you can literally walk in your pjs,” she adds. And, it helps regulate hunger. “Walking is not an extremely difficult exercise and it can help regulate your appetite hormones and reduce feelings of hunger,” she says.

David Tuckfield Lost 60 Pounds EMS Workouts

David_Tuckfield7David Tuckfield

David Tuckfield, 61, dropped 60 pounds and reduced his body fat by 23 percent in 16 months by incorporating electro muscle stimulation (EMS) workouts into his routine, which he discovered at BODY20. “I was very skeptical when I first tried the EMS workouts. I was shocked after my demo workout how much I felt a difference,” he told Body Network. “For me, the amazing thing about the EMS workouts to me is that I can actually feel or sense my muscles. That was something that I had never experienced. At first I could feel them only during the workouts, but now when I exert myself I can discern which muscles are engaged. I don’t have huge or impressive muscles, but that I am more in-tune with the muscles I have. It is a good feeling to feel your muscles engage when you do an activity.” Another “great thing” about the workout “is that you really get a full workout (or better) in 20 minutes,” he says.

He Also Set Long-Term Goals

David_Tuckfield5David Tuckfield

He also started looking at weight loss as a long-term goal. “Don’t think short term. Think of it as a very long journey,” he suggests. “You will plateau, and you should just be comfortable with that. If you don’t stress out about the plateaus, you will eventually work through them.” Daily weigh-ins also helped him. “If you’ve gained weight, ask yourself what you did yesterday that would have made you gain weight. “If somebody is telling you that you can lose weight without being in a calorie deficit run because they're lying,” she adds, calling it “the most important step” to losing weight. “I know you guys have heard the saying, you cannot outrun a bad diet, and it's so true. Google, TDEE calculator. From there, put in your information. I'm gonna tell you exactly how many calories you need to eat. I ate about 1600 to 1800 calories daily, just depending on my activity level for the day. If I did two workouts that day, I would eat closer to 1800. If I had a more sedentary day, I would eat closer to 1500 to 1600.” She also followed a meal plan. “I have a seven day meal plan available at the top of my profile. It just makes it really easy when you're going to a grocery shop, when you're first starting out, when things are structured, it's gonna make it a lot easier to follow and just to stay consistent, not skipping breakfast, especially if we're exercising.”

You can take your dog for a walk. You can get a walking pad and put it under your desk. I don't care how, just 60 minutes of walking.”

Are you trying to lose weight with a healthy diet but can’t seem to hit your goals? You could be drinking your calories, says one weight loss warrior. Gabriella Rolocut (@gabbierolocut) is a social media influencer who shares about everything from fashion to weight loss. In fact, she managed to lose 75 pounds in a healthy and sustainable way, sharing tips with her followers. “I'm gonna share my biggest weight loss tip on how I was able to go from this to this, losing 75 pounds,” she says at the start of a viral TikTok clip. She has since gone on to lose over 80 pounds.

You Need to Understand How You Are Consuming Your Calories

Gabriella suggests taking a deep look at sneaky calories. “My biggest tip, and I can't stress this enough, is understanding how you're consuming your calories,” she says.

Coffee Drinks Have Lots of Hidden Calories

“For example, we all love Starbucks, we all love Dunkin'. We love our little Pumpkin Spice latte. Our pumpkin spice drinks wanna be very seasonal. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. Those drinks have so many calories, and I don't know if anybody's ever looked it up. Sometimes they don't post the calories up on the board next to the drinks, so I'm gonna show you just how many calories you're consuming,” she says.

One Dunkin’ Drink Has 930 Calories

Upland, California, United States - 02-19-2019: A view of a store front sign for Dunkin' Donuts.

She starts with a pumpkin spice latte. “I'm gonna use the Pumpkin Swirl frozen coffee from Dunkin',” she says. “There could be 930 calories in this drink. That's 63% of my daily calories. If I were to drink this in the morning, I'd only have 541 more calories to get me through the rest of the day. There are 185 grams of sugar in this. 46 teaspoons of sugar is equal to 14 glazed donuts. Didn't you much rather eat your calories than drink them in a drink?”

There Are Lots of Alternatives That Don’t Have As Many Calories

@gabbierolocut

“There are so many different alternatives that you can get from Starbucks, Dunkin', or anywhere that has significantly fewer calories than this one. That you can still have your pumpkin spice while losing weight was the biggest thing for me,” she said.

But Drinking These Kinds of Drinks Prevented Her From Losing Weight

@gabbierolocut

“I didn't realize how many calories I was consuming on a daily basis because I would go out to Dunkin', to Starbucks, and I would get drinks like this, not knowing that's why I wasn't losing weight because I was consuming a drink that has 930 calories and then eating more,” she says.

Calculate Your Maintenance Calories

Gray pencil, calculator and opened account bookShutterstock

She recommends “trying to calculate your resting metabolic rate, so how many calories your body's burning at its resting state, and then finding your maintenance calories, so how many calories you should be consuming on a daily basis, just to function as a human being.”

Then, Calculate Your Deficit Calories

Then, figure out how many calories you need to cut to lose weight. “Calculate your calorie deficit calories, which is the calories that you're gonna wanna be consuming if you want to lose weight,” she says.

This Helped Her Lose Weight

“That was one of my biggest things, eliminating high-calorie drinks and replacing them with healthier alternatives. I love my coffee. I look forward to it in the morning. It's the first thing I think about when I wake up. If you're looking to lose weight. I would highly suggest breaking down your calories and figuring out how you consume your calories throughout the day so that you're able to stay in a calorie deficit and lose weight,” she says.

This Dunkin’ Drink helped Her Lose Over 80 Pounds

In another post, she revealed her go-to drink order at Dunkin'. This drink has helped me lose over 80 pounds, and it's so simple to order. “Can I do a large iced latte? Can you put three Splenda in that? And light ice.”

The Only Calories Are From Milk

“I asked for light ice, which means they put in more milk. There are more calories from milk. But my only concern here is that I know that none of the calories I'm drinking are coming from a sweetener solely because there is no flavor in it. The only calories that come out of this drink are from milk. Coffee has no calories. Stevia has no calories. The milk is the only thing,” she says. Are you experiencing unexplained fatigue, brittle nails, or slow-healing wounds? Your body might be waving red flags about protein deficiency. Dr. Jin W. Sung, a prominent health expert with nearly 500,000 YouTube subscribers, reveals seven critical signs that could indicate you're not getting enough protein. Understanding these signals could be the key to unlocking better health, stronger immunity, and improved overall wellness. Read on to discover if your body is trying to tell you something important.

The Hidden Language of Protein Deficiency: 7 Warning Signs

"Most people don't realize how many different ways their body signals protein deficiency," says Dr. Sung. These seven key signs can help you identify if you're getting enough protein in your diet. Pay attention if you experience any of these symptoms, especially in combination.

Sign #1: Struggling to Build or Maintain Muscle

"Muscle loss or inability to gain muscle despite working out is a major red flag," warns Dr. Sung. If you're hitting the gym regularly but not seeing results, or noticing muscle weakness despite regular activity, your protein intake might be insufficient. For optimal muscle health, Dr. Sung recommends 1.2 to 1.4 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight daily, with athletes needing up to 2 grams per kilogram.

Sign #2: Brittle Hair and Weak Nails

Notice your hair breaking easily or nails becoming increasingly brittle? Dr. Sung explains that these changes often signal protein deficiency, as hair and nails are primarily made of protein. Regular monitoring of your protein intake is crucial for maintaining strong, healthy hair and nails.

Sign #3: Slow-Healing Wounds

"When you get a cut and it doesn't heal well or in the expected time frame, that's a clear sign," Dr. Sung notes. Protein plays a crucial role in tissue repair and wound healing. If small cuts or bruises take longer than usual to heal, your body might need more protein to support its repair processes.

Sign #4: Weakened Immune System

"These people will be more prone to infection or become currently sick," Dr. Sung explains about protein-deficient individuals. If you're catching every cold that comes around or infections seem to linger, your immune system might be struggling due to inadequate protein intake.

Sign #5: Sleep Issues and Mood Changes

Experiencing anxiety, depression, or insomnia? According to Dr. Sung, these could be unexpected signs of protein deficiency. Studies show that protein is essential for producing neurotransmitters that regulate mood and sleep patterns.

Sign #6: Bone Health Concerns

A doctor with a stethoscope, in a medical uniform in a clinic, a traumatologist analyzes a leg fracture. X-ray of the knee. Ultrasound. Injury of the leg in the knee joint. OsteoporosisShutterstock

"People don't realize it's not just calcium and minerals in the bone. There's protein amino acids too," Dr. Sung emphasizes. If you're concerned about bone density or have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, increasing your protein intake might be crucial for maintaining bone health.

Sign #7: Constant Hunger and Cravings

While not directly quoted by Dr. Sung, research shows that inadequate protein intake can lead to increased hunger and cravings. Dr. Sung's recommended protein intake of 1.2 to 1.4 grams per kilogram of body weight can help maintain satiety and reduce unnecessary snacking.

Understanding Your Protein Needs

Dr. Sung breaks down the numbers clearly: "A 150-pound person needs at least 81.6 to 95.2 grams of protein per day for optimal health." For those with health challenges, he recommends increasing intake to 1.6 grams per kilogram of body weight, while athletes might need up to 2 grams per kilogram.

How to Check for Protein Deficiency

"Simple tests like CBC with CHE can show you if you have protein deficiencies," explains Dr. Sung. Key markers include BUN (should be 10-16), globulin (2.4-2.8), and hemoglobin levels. If you're experiencing any of the seven signs, consider asking your healthcare provider about these tests.

Solutions for Better Protein Absorption

Dr. Sung emphasizes that it's not just about eating more protein – it's about proper absorption too. "If you have hypochlorhydria or low stomach acid issues, you definitely want to increase hydrochloric acid along with some digestive enzymes to break down your protein appropriately," he advises. Consider protein-rich diets like ketogenic, paleo, or carefully planned vegetarian diets, depending on your specific needs and restrictions. He Recommends the 40-30-20 Method, First Starting Your Day with 40 Grams Protein

In another post, he touts the benefits of the 40-30-20 Method. “Start your day with 40g of protein. A breakfast smoothie with protein powder, berries, and almond milk or overnight oats with Greek yogurt and protein powder are great options,” he writes. According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW) but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

Next, Walk for 30 Minutes

“Walk for 30 minutes daily. Split it into two 15-minute sessions if needed. Walking boosts metabolism, reduces stress, and aids fat loss,” he says. A 2018 study published in the journal Obesity found a link between walking 10,000 steps a day and weight loss and weight management. Other studies published by the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) in JAMA Neurology and in JAMA Internal Medicine also linked walking 10,000 steps a day to less dementia and less cardiovascular disease overall, with less heart disease, less heart failure, and fewer strokes.

Finally, Lift Weights for 20 Minutes

“Dedicate 20 minutes to weightlifting 3-4 days a week,” he adds. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills.

Are you trying to achieve a chiseled midsection? One famous fitness trainer and influencer has an important PSA about it. Kelsey Wells is a Sweat trainer and influencer with over 3.1 million followers on Instagram alone. In a new social media post, she pops the lid open on many of the tips she has been reading online about achieving an ab fab figure. “3 foods I stopped eating to reveal my abs,” she writes as a joke, revealing the truth about getting great abs.

Most of What You Read Is BS, She Claims

“CAN WE BE SO FOR REAL RIGHT NOW !!!! I have been seeing so many reels beginning with this exact prompt (or equally unfounded and uneducated ones), and you know what?” she writes. “The young woman I was from pretty much 15-25 would have SAVED THEM ALL then STARVED MYSELF to do whatever bs they prescribed. PLEASE take these reminders to heart ok ILYSM!!!”

Nutrition Is Individual

First, nutrition is individual. “Anyone telling you there is only ONE right and best way to eat for EVERY body in EVERY phase of life, is mistaken. There are many ways of eating that CAN be right and best for YOU to reach YOUR goals, and they may shift and change as you do,” she says.

Follow These 3 Food Rules

There are three food rules you should follow, however. “The only OVERARCHING nutrition advice I think can benefit everyone is to EAT PROTEIN, EAT PLANTS, and STAY HYDRATED!” she writes.

Change Your Mental Relationship With Food

“I will die on this hill— THE KEY TO A HEALTHY DIET IS YOUR MENTAL RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD,” she says, noting that eating disorders are “(devastatingly) more prevalent than ever. NOTHING you could eat is as unhealthy as SHAMING yourself for eating or equating your WORTH to what you put in your mouth.”

Extreme Restrictions Rarely Work

“Extreme restrictions almost always lead to a negative road. Unless your DOCTOR advices you to cut out whole food groups, I would suggest flexibility and moderation,” she continues.

Visisble Abs Have to Do with Body Fat Percentage

Next, having “visible abs” is NOT achieved through eating or not eating any one specific food, per Wells. “It is simply due to having a low enough body fat percentage for them to show— which varies. The surest way to achieve this body composition shift is through strengthening your core muscles and being in an overall caloric deficit. Anyone pedaling ‘lose belly fat’ etc is full of b S because genetically our bodies store fat differently and we don’t get to choose from which areas we lose or store our body fat first,” she writes.

You Can’t Determine Health by Appearance

“LAST BUT NOT LEAST !!!! You CANNOT TELL BY LOOKING AT SOMEONE how HEALTHY they are! Or if/to what extent they are struggling with the whole host of mental struggles that diet culture rhetorics instigates and propel. Move your body out of love and gratitude for your body. Safeguard your mind. Redefine fitness!!!!!” she writes. And if you enjoyed this article, take advantage of these 15 Quick Ways to Lose Body Fat Percentage in a Week.
