If you have over 100 pounds to lose, it can seem like a helpless task. However, getting inspiration from other weight loss warriors is a great reminder that yes, you can do it too. In 2019 Joan Henning hit her peak weight, tipping the scales at 348 pounds. She went on to lose a whopping 130 pounds – an entire person – and isn’t done yet. In a new interview with Body Network, she tells her story and reveals a few of the core health habits that have helped her become the healthiest version of herself.

1. Joan Hit Rock Bottom

Metformin,Pill,Tablets, Medicine, type 2, diabetes , overweight High, Blood, Sugar, TreatmentShutterstock

In 2019, Joan hit rock bottom. After battling thyroid cancer and grief depression following the loss of loved ones, she was diagnosed with borderline prediabetes and high blood pressure. Instead of going on insulin, Joan tried Metformin for six months. It helped her lose weight and get her A1C down.

2. Keto

Then, she made a few major dietary changes. “ I was able to start keto,” she says, adding that was on the low carb diet for “months.” While on keto, “I probably lost about 10 pounds because keto, it comes off quickly,” she said.

3. 4 to 5 CycleBar Classes Per Week

,Cyclebar,fitness,exercise, bike, workoutShutterstock

She also started spinning at CycleBar in 2019 and has been doing it 4 to 5 days a week ever since. She usually takes a 45-minute class, sometimes longer, and some days she signs up for two classes back-to-back.

4. 10,000 Steps Per Day

Female,Legs,,Running,Shoes,walk,walking,run,hije,outdoors,exercise,fitnessShutterstock

Joan also started walking daily. Her goal is 10,000 steps a day, which she tries to meet by walking instead of driving when she can. “I am constantly moving my body,” she explains.

5. Strength Training

,Dumbbells,,,Rack,hym,weights, fitness, exerciseShutterstock

Recently, Joan added one day of strength training per week. “I have definitely noticed a difference since I've started strength training. The difference in my upper body, especially, I've gotten smaller.”

6. Meal Prep

Healthy,Meal,Prep,Containers,,Green,Beans,,Chicken,Breast,diet,cooking,kitchenShutterstock

Joan is no longer on the keto diet, but tries to avoid eating too many carbs. “Now I just meal prep and watch when and what I eat,” she says. She does her cooking on the weekends and makes simple but healthy food, like salads, chicken, roasted vegetables, salmon, and berries, dividing them into plastic containers that are convenient for grab-and-go. “I don’t deprive myself,” she adds. “I try and have a cheat day once in a while.”

7. Hydration

She also hydrates. “I drink plenty of water during the day. That’s my go to drink. I don’t drink soda or anything,” she says. She has a 40-ounce water jug and drinks 3 to 4 of them per day. Sometimes she will drink Celsius energy drinks, which are sold at CycleBar. “If I'm doing two classes, I'll probably grab an energy drink,” she says.

8. She Is “Mentally and Physically Happier”

Joan_Henning2Joan Henning

Joan maintains that her life has changed so much since she started her health journey and she isn’t ready to stop. She is 20 pounds away from her goal weight. “I’m mentally and physically happier. I can do things today I couldn’t do 130 pounds ago,” she says. “If there is anything I can say to anyone. Don’t give up, keep pushing forward and set those goals and achieve them.”

9. Her Final Advice: “Be Patient”

Joan_Henning3Joan Henning

Joan hopes that she can help other people achieve their own goals with her health journey, and she ends with some simple advice: “I tell people, it's not going to happen overnight. Stick with your goals and keep going.”

💪🔥Body Booster: Cycling is a great workout for a variety of reasons. Spin classes are fun, social, and blast lots of calories. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking is a low-impact aerobic exercise, and is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

If you've ever felt frustrated with dieting, you're not alone. After 15 years of trying different weight loss approaches, Martin Balcaitis, 45, Senior Vice President of Operations at Lindora in Orange County, California, finally discovered the game-changing mistake that had been holding him back all along. His transformation story proves that sometimes the smallest changes can lead to the biggest results.

The Wake-Up Call

Martin Balcaitis

"I feel like I've always been trying to lose weight!" Martin tells Body Network. "But now that I'm in my mid-40s, I know that it isn't so much about the number on the scale, but my overall health for longevity – that was my real motivator this time around."

The Crucial Discovery

Standing at 5'9" and weighing 222 pounds, Martin thought he had tried everything. Then came the revelation that changed everything: "I thought I was eating a correct portion for myself, but eyeballing wasn't my friend," he admits. "A food scale was crucial to my success."

The results speak for themselves. In just six months, Martin dropped from 222 pounds to 165 pounds, achieving a remarkable transformation in his body composition. "My overall body fat percentage went from 36% to 15% in 6 months," he shares proudly.

A New Approach to Food

Unlike previous attempts at weight loss, Martin's new strategy didn't involve cutting out foods entirely. "I haven't eliminated anything – which is great!" he explains. "I simply know how to manage portions and adjust my eating that day if I know I'm going to have something decadent or high-carb during the day."

A Day of Measured Eating

Martin's daily menu is both satisfying and strategic. "Breakfast is typically one egg, some egg whites and cottage cheese blended in what I call my 'protein eggs' with spinach and some meat," he says. "Lunch will be a salad with a yogurt-based dressing and dinner is roasted vegetables and lean protein – also three Lindora snacks too!"

Time management proved to be another crucial lesson. "Time can always get the best of us so I make sure to workout in the morning," Martin explains. "I make too many excuses to not go to the gym after work." His dedication has paid off: "I can actually see some abs poking through now!"

Dealing with Setbacks

Martin maintains a realistic approach to challenges. "Sometimes the motivation just isn't there and you have to tell yourself that it's a marathon, not a sprint," he reflects. "Don't beat yourself up if you skip a workout or can't go the distance you wanted to."

The Power of Accountability

Making the journey public became a powerful tool. "Be vocal about it. I told people I was trying to lose weight to help hold me accountable," he advises. His commitment extended to his wardrobe: "I donated clothes once they were too big for me – I didn't want to buy big clothes again, so I had to keep going!"

The Path to Success

Indya Ago Lost 120 Pounds by Learning How to Have a “Balanced” Approach to Food

@indyaagos

Something I tell my clients when they first start coaching with me is that in order for these results to be sustainable we have to create balance. when I first started my weight loss journey, I used to restrict myself so much, I would demonize so many different kinds of foods that diet culture had brainwashed me, and into believing were the reason why I wasn’t able to reach the results I was looking for. Which just led me to cycles of binging, and creating a very unhealthy relationship between nutrition and my body. Through proper education on macronutrients, I was able to heal this relationship. And this is how I help my clients and maintain their goals as well. Education is power. WIEIAD DEETS: 💚 breakfast: protein, pancakes, egg, white scramble, turkey bacon 💚 snack: fruit, salad, and protein smoothie 💚 lunch: birria tacos + veg 💚 dinner: seafood boil Babe, if you’re ready to finally create a lifestyle transformation that’s sustainable while still eating all of the foods that you enjoy, I would love to work with you. She Also Educated Herself on Macronutrients

She “Started Slow” and Learned “Self-Trust”

@indyaagos

If you wanna lose 80 pounds next year, I’m gonna tell you exactly how to do it! No gatekeeping the secret to success here. The number one thing that you need to get clear on, is the amount of time it’s going to take you to achieve your goal, the amount of effort required for you to get there, and, of course, why it’s so important to you. Setting a realistic expectation for yourself, while also simultaneously connecting with your why is the first step to create the foundation. You need to be successful through 2024. When you understand that this journey is going to take time, it’s going to require sacrifice, it’s going to require you stepping so far out of your comfort zone, that you may be paralyzed by fear at times. But being okay with the discomfort. Surrendering to knowing that in those moments of uncertainty, in those moments of insecurity, and discomfort, are facilitating growth. Connecting with knowing that, allowing yourself to grow, is what is going to help you reach your goals. And not only reach your goals, sustain those achievements. Baby, 2024 can be your year, and the first thing that you need to do, is get your mindset right. Know why you’re on this journey, know what you need to do to get from point A to point B, and set yourself up for success. Start building the mindset, habits, and routines into your daily life now in order to be successful 2024. and if you’re ready to take the next step, you’re ready to invest in yourself. I’m now accepting applications for January. The link is in my bio let’s get to work!🤘🏽 #weightlosstransformation #weightlosstips #weightlossjourney #weightlossgoals #weightlosscoach #weightlosshelp #weightlosschallenge #fatlosstips #fatlossjourney #nutritiontips #mindsetcoach #newyearsresolution #newyearnewme #nutritioncoach #fitnesscoach

In another video, Indya reveals another tactic that helped her lose so much weight. “You got to start slow,” she says. “If you approach this from an all or nothing mentality, you are only setting yourself up for failure. A big part of this journey is regaining self-trust. You are so used to letting yourself down. The way that you build trust with yourself again is by following through with the promises that you've made to yourself.”

And Took a Deep Dive Into Her Failed Attempts at Weight Loss

Another thing she did is “going to require you to dig deep,” she says. “We need to figure out what your main excuses or your repeated point of failure chances are. You've been stuck in the same exact cycle, repeating the same narratives as to why you haven't been able to be successful in the past. If your story is that you never have any time, then we need to figure out why you're not prioritizing making time. People make time for what's important to them. If the story is that you are overwhelmed and you have no idea where to start, then it is time to reach out for help so that you have a plan of action as well as guidance.”

Raven Norwood Lost 165 Pounds By Cutting Processed Foods From Her Diet

Raven_Norwood_rowwithraven1rowwithraven/Instagram

Raven Norwood, 28, of Huntington Beach, California, started her weight loss journey at 212 pounds and has managed to drop down to 155 pounds, losing 165 pounds in two years. In an interview with Body Network, she explains that she used to eat food containing several dyes, fast food, and packaged food with GMOs, too much MSG, and preservatives. While she didn’t eliminate “any specific food groups because balance is the key to longevity,” she did cut the above from her diet and started cooking her own meals “as much as possible.” Creating healthy relationships with all food groups is so important when it comes to keeping the weight off, she stresses. “Balance is key, so, if I want a cookie here and there, I eat the cookie… no biggie!”

She Also Amped Up Her Water Intake

Raven adds that “lots of water” keeps her hydrated and feeling full. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

She Fell in Love with a Boutique Fitness Method

Raven_Norwood_rowwithraven4raven.grl/Instagram

Raven also encourages finding a fitness form that you love. She discovered rowing at her local Row House. “I love how boutique and specialized gyms are getting more recognition! When I first found Row House, I had never seen a gym dedicated to rowing,” she says. “And on top of that you get floorwork exercises, group fitness and the wonderful community that comes along with it! I think a lot of people would benefit from boutique gyms.”

She Took Progress Pictures

Raven_Norwood_rowwithraven6raven.grl/Instagram

Progress photos were also an important part of Raven’s weight loss journey. “Sometimes your mind will play tricks on you, and make you feel like you haven’t done as much as you have,” she says. If she feels discouraged, she will look at her “Day 1” photo and it will provide instant motivation. “Take photos because your mind will play tricks on you, but those photos won’t,” she says.

Dils Less Lost 50 Pounds by Not Drinking Coffee on an Empty Stomach

Dils Lee (@dilshealth) lost 50 pounds by making a few simple lifestyle habit changes, which not only aided in weight loss, but were a game-changer in her overall health, especially with her inflammation and hormonal imbalance. One of the first changes that she made? “I stopped drinking coffee on an empty stomach and started making my breakfast look like this,” she said. “Drinking coffee on an empty stomach can lead to bloating, nausea, and anxiety, and it can also raise your cortisol levels, which can negatively impact ovulation weight and hormonal imbalances.”

She Also Switched From HIIT to Low Intensity Workouts

You don’t have to do HIIT workouts to lose weight. The second change that she made “was stopping all high intensity training while I was losing weight,” she said. “I found that I harbored a lot of inflammation in my face, arms, body, stomach, and legs everywhere.” Instead, she opted for lower intensity training. “Basically, by switching to lower intensity workouts, I've found that my waist has drastically come in. My stomach is much more flat, and I'm actually building a lot of tone and muscle in my arms and legs,” she says.

And, She Prioritized Sleep

“The fourth change that I made is that I introduced a healthy sleep routine,” Dils reveals. “My routine includes using supplements like magnesium and then not using my phone an hour before bed. Prioritizing sleep will help your body recover after physical activity. It'll also help with hormone regulation, metabolic regulation, stress and emotional wellbeing.” What are the health benefits of sleep? According to the Sleep Foundation, getting enough z’s is a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, improves mental function, restores your immune system, helps relieve stress, and aids in weight loss.

He does “harder” push ups, he says. “It's not enough to just do as many as you can and do them fast. Once you feel comfortable doing pushups, once you feel like you've kind of got it down, you have to start making it harder for yourself,” he explains. “The resistance is what builds the strength, right?

Alexandra Lost 40 Pounds by Eating the Same Meals Every Day

Online fitness coach Alexandra (@alexx.fitt) personally lost 40 pounds by eating the same meals daily. “For 1-2 months I ate the same meals every single day why? Because I was confused I didn’t know what to eat or where to start so I ate the same thing everyday,” Alexandra confesses in the caption of her video.

She Also Walks 10,000 Steps a Day

In another video she reveals that walking 10,000 steps a day was also key. “I weigh around 150lbs so walking 10k steps burns an extra 300-400 calories a day without spending hours on the stair master,” says Alexandra. “Walking can be done anywhere you don’t have to get fancy gym clothes you can literally walk in your pjs,” she adds. And, it helps regulate hunger. “Walking is not an extremely difficult exercise and it can help regulate your appetite hormones and reduce feelings of hunger,” she says.

David Tuckfield Lost 60 Pounds EMS Workouts

David Tuckfield, 61, dropped 60 pounds and reduced his body fat by 23 percent in 16 months by incorporating electro muscle stimulation (EMS) workouts into his routine, which he discovered at BODY20. “I was very skeptical when I first tried the EMS workouts. I was shocked after my demo workout how much I felt a difference,” he told Body Network. “For me, the amazing thing about the EMS workouts to me is that I can actually feel or sense my muscles. That was something that I had never experienced. At first I could feel them only during the workouts, but now when I exert myself I can discern which muscles are engaged. I don’t have huge or impressive muscles, but that I am more in-tune with the muscles I have. It is a good feeling to feel your muscles engage when you do an activity.” Another “great thing” about the workout “is that you really get a full workout (or better) in 20 minutes,” he says.

He Also Set Long-Term Goals

David_Tuckfield5David Tuckfield

He also started looking at weight loss as a long-term goal. “Don’t think short term. Think of it as a very long journey,” he suggests. “You will plateau, and you should just be comfortable with that. If you don’t stress out about the plateaus, you will eventually work through them.” Daily weigh-ins also helped him. “If you’ve gained weight, ask yourself what you did yesterday that would have made you gain weight. Usually the answer is obvious,” he says.

“If somebody is telling you that you can lose weight without being in a calorie deficit run because they're lying,” she adds, calling it “the most important step” to losing weight. “I know you guys have heard the saying, you cannot outrun a bad diet, and it's so true. Google, TDEE calculator. From there, put in your information. I'm gonna tell you exactly how many calories you need to eat. I ate about 1600 to 1800 calories daily, just depending on my activity level for the day. If I did two workouts that day, I would eat closer to 1800. If I had a more sedentary day, I would eat closer to 1500 to 1600.” She also followed a meal plan. “I have a seven day meal plan available at the top of my profile. It just makes it really easy when you're going to a grocery shop, when you're first starting out, when things are structured, it's gonna make it a lot easier to follow and just to stay consistent, not skipping breakfast, especially if we're exercising.”

You can take your dog for a walk. You can get a walking pad and put it under your desk. I don't care how, just 60 minutes of walking.”

Hilary Carver is a fat loss coach who lost 100 pounds naturally and helps her clients do the same. In a new post, she reveals a few key things she learned on her journey that can help you lose weight as well. “I lost 100 pounds naturally. Here’s what I learned,” she writes.

She Started Taking Action

“A decade ago, I stood exactly where you are. I felt stuck in my body. Tired. Frustrated. Overwhelmed by the thought of starting again because, honestly, I wasn’t sure if I could follow through this time. But something shifted. I realized that if I wanted my life to change, I had to stop waiting for the ‘perfect time’ and start taking imperfect action,” she says.

She Lost 100 Pounds with No Crash Diets or Quick Fixes

“Over the next few years, I lost 100 pounds naturally. No crash diets. No quick fixes. I followed the exact framework I teach my clients—and it didn’t just transform my body... it changed my life. Here are the MOST important lessons I learned along the way,” she continued.

You Can’t Outwork a Bad Diet

First, she learned that you can’t outwork a bad diet. “For years, I thought I could exercise my way to results without addressing what I was eating. Spoiler: It didn’t work. When I finally learned how to make meal prep & planning simple, track my food without obsessing, and eat in a way that didn’t feel restrictive—everything changed,” she writes.

Mindset is the Real Work

Next, she realized that changing her mindset is the hardest part. “I had to face the excuses, the self-sabotage, and the limiting beliefs that kept me stuck. It wasn’t about motivation—it was about choosing to show up for myself, even on the hard days,” she says.

Your Lifestyle Will Make or Break You

Hilary Carver balancebyhilaryLie Number TwoCopyright balancebyhilary/Instagram

Lifestyle is also important. “The secret to losing 100 pounds wasn’t in doing more. It was in building small, consistent habits that worked with my life—not against it. These small changes stacked up into a BIG transformation,” she says.

Nobody Is Coming to Save You

Hilary Carver balancebyhilaryLie Number ThreeCopyright balancebyhilary/Instagram

She also learned that “nobody is coming to save you.” “This one stings, but it’s the truth: If you want the transformation, you have to take accountability. You have to stop blaming your circumstances and start owning your choices. The moment I stopped making excuses, I started making progress.”

It’s Worth It

“This journey isn’t just about losing weight. It’s about gaining confidence, energy, and control over your life. It’s about becoming the version of you who feels proud when she looks in the mirror,” she concludes. “I know how overwhelming it feels to start, but I also know what’s waiting for you on the other side of your excuses—and it is SO worth it.” And if you enjoyed this article, take advantage of these 15 Quick Ways to Lose Body Fat Percentage in a Week.

Have you been dieting and spending time in the gym, but are starting to feel bulk? You might be making a common mistake. Sarah Bouchard is a Nutrition Coach & Educator who helps women over 35 “ditch diet confusion & simplify nutrition” for “Sustainable fat loss + healthy body composition,” she explains in her Instagram bio. In a new Instagram post, she breaks down the reason why you might not be achieving the toned look you desire.

“I hate to break it to you, but…What makes a woman appear ‘bulky’ 99% of the time is 🥁… consuming more calories than her body needs. The women you see in their late 30s and beyond who look ‘toned’? They prioritize protein like it’s their job and aren’t afraid of lifting heavy.

According to Sarah, achieving a “toned” look means having: “A moderate to low amount of body fat” and “A healthy amount of muscle tissue.” And “muscle isn’t built by accident,” she says, noting that it requires “Consistent strength training” and “Adequate protein intake.”

“In my experience assessing clients’ food logs, I’ve noticed patterns that inadvertently lead to an undesired ‘bulky’ appearance,” she continues. The first one? “Fearing carbs but loading up on ‘healthy fats’,” she says. “There are only two other macronutrients besides protein: carbs & fats. Women who fear carbs often end up in a caloric surplus from fats (think nuts, flaxseeds, almond flour, coconut oil).”

Neglecting Satiety

Next is neglecting satiety. “Trying to eat as little as possible is not a winning strategy for that ‘toned’ physique, as it will inevitably result in overconsumption of calories. Want to feel more full without being in a calorie surplus? Lean protein & fiber-rich foods are key,” she says.

Misunderstanding Protein Density & Quality

The third reason is the misunderstanding of protein density and quality. “Not all protein sources are created equal,” she writes.

Don’t Undereat

She offers solutions to optimize calorie and protein intake, starting with undereating. “Stop trying to eat as little as possible: Focus on foods that help you feel more full and build muscle!” she writes.

Balance Macronutrients

Next, make sure to balance macronutrients. “Ensure each meal contains a balance of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates to promote satiety and muscle maintenance,” she writes.

Prioritize Protein

Prioritize protein. “Aim for a minimum protein intake between 0.8–1 grams per lb of body weight daily to support muscle synthesis and maintenance,” she says.

Distribute Protein Intake

Make sure you are distributing protein intake as well. “Spread protein consumption evenly across meals to maximize muscle protein synthesis & satiety throughout the day,” she suggests.

Balance Nutrition with Exercise

Don’t forget about movement. “Remember, achieving a toned physique is about creating a sustainable balance between nutrition and exercise,” she concludes. And if you enjoyed this article, take advantage of these 15 Quick Ways to Lose Body Fat Percentage in a Week.

3 Simple Stretches Made This Coach More Flexible in 2 Weeks

We've all experienced those mornings – waking up feeling stiff, tired, and perhaps a bit cranky. As yoga expert Liv explains, "When we wake up in the mornings, our bodies can feel quite stiff, a little lethargic, and often a little cranky too." Adding simple stretches to your morning routine can dramatically change how you feel both physically and mentally.

Meet the expert

Liv is dedicated to helping people become strong and flexible through mobility-based strength training and yoga. She's the creator of The Yoga Rebel Method, which uniquely combines strength training with yoga principles. With over 500K YouTube subscribers, Liv has guided countless people toward better mobility and flexibility. Try these three essential stretches she recommends and experience the difference they can make to your entire day.

RELATED:12-3-30 Walking Method: 20 Proven Tips to Lose Weight Faster

The science behind morning stretches

Why are these particular stretches so effective? According to Liv, it's about more than just loosening tight muscles. "Our bodies have natural instincts for survival, which lead us to want to protect our vital organs like our lungs, like our heart. It's why we often sleep curled up in a small ball." These targeted stretches help counteract this protective position and trigger your body's natural energy systems.

The morning energy boost

These stretches work on a biological level to increase alertness. "When we expose these vital organs in something like a chest and abdominal stretch, our body senses a slight increase in vulnerability and this activates our nervous system," Liv explains in her post. This gentle activation provides "a natural energy boost and a sense of alertness through increased production of adrenaline." It's a clever way to harness your body's built-in energy systems.

Stretch 1: Camel Pose Sweeps

Yoga,Instructor,camel, pose Ustrasana, asana,

This dynamic stretch specifically targets your hip flexors, abdominals, chest, and shoulders – all areas that typically tighten overnight. To perform it, Liv instructs: "Come to sit onto your heels, toes tucked under, and take your knees a little wider than your hips. From here, take one hand to your heel and then sweep the other arm up towards the sky as you lift your hips off of your heels."

The key to making this stretch effective is in the details. Liv advises, "Tuck your tailbone under and squeeze your bum as you rise. Press the chest up towards the sky and turn your gaze slightly off towards one side." Then return to center and repeat on the other side. "Spend around 30 seconds moving from side to side," she recommends, emphasizing that this is a dynamic stretch to be performed with control and awareness.

Stretch 2: Alternating Lunges and Hamstring Stretches

This second essential stretch addresses the notoriously tight morning hamstrings while maintaining the chest-opening benefits of the first stretch. "Bring yourself into a low lunge position with the back knee on the floor and the toes tucked," Liv explains. The proper form is crucial here for your safety and effectiveness.

Lunge to Hamstring Technique

Liv emphasizes a specific technique for this movement: "Keeping the tailbone softly tucked under in the lunge is really important to look after your lower back and to actually be able to stretch your hip muscles, so don't forget this point." From the lunge position, "Use a nice big breath in as you lift the chest and let your arms open up like goalposts, pressing the pelvis forwards and down as you do."

The Hamstring Stretch Transition

Completing this stretch sequence requires a smooth transition. "From there, shift your hips back to sit onto your back heel, straightening out the front leg," Liv instructs. She notes that "How upright you remain with your torso will depend on how flexible your hamstrings are." Alternate between the lunge and hamstring stretch about eight times before switching sides.

Stretch 3: Seated Twist with Arm Reaches

seated twist with bent kneesShutterstock

The final essential stretch in Liv's morning routine adds side body opening to complete your morning energy boost. "Come to sit onto the floor with one leg straight out in front of you and the other bent, foot towards your inner thigh," Liv explains. This position creates the foundation for an effective twist and side stretch combination.

The Twist and Lift

From the seated position, "twist the body off towards the side of your bent leg and place a hand behind you onto the floor," says Liv. Then, "As you take a nice deep breath in, lift your hips off of the floor as you circle the arm up and overhead." This movement creates a powerful opening through the side body while engaging your core.

Flowing with Your Breath

The rhythm of breath is crucial to making this stretch effective. "Similarly to before, think of slightly tucking the tailbone under, engaging your bum muscles and pressing that chest towards the sky," Liv advises. Then, "use a breath out to sit your bum back to the floor." She emphasizes that "Following your breath will make these movements a little easier."

The Importance of Consistency

Liv concludes with an important reminder about flexibility training: "When it comes to improving your flexibility, little and often is a far more effective approach than sporadic longer sessions every now and again." These three non-negotiable stretches provide maximum benefit in minimum time – perfect for establishing a sustainable morning routine that transforms how you start each day.

Your Morning Transformation

By incorporating these three expert-recommended stretches into your morning routine, you'll notice both immediate and long-term benefits. You'll start your day with increased energy, better mobility, and a clearer mind. As Liv explains, stretching also gives "your body a dose of endorphins, the happiness hormone, to set you off with a positive start." Begin tomorrow with these stretches and feel the difference for yourself. And if you enjoyed this article, don't missI’m a Nutritionist and Here Are 25 Weight Loss Truths You Need to Hear.
