Mom Lost 70 Pounds Thanks to These 6 Daily Plant-Based Meals

Hint: It involves lots of fruit.

Kiki_Nelson9

If you love fruit and veggies and want to lose weight, one expert claims to have mastered the perfect weight loss diet. Kiki Nelson is a mom, wife, and plant-based health enthusiast. She lost 70 after adopting a plant-based diet, which also reduced her risk for diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. In a brand new viral video, she revealed everything she eats in a day that helped her lose weight and keep it off. “I lost 70 pounds naturally and have been keeping it off for years,” she says, going on to detail her diet and a few health habits that help her stay fit.

Meal One: A Big Bowl of Water Melon

Kiki starts her day with fresh fruit. “Here is what I started with this morning. I had some fresh watermelon, which I am still able to find at Costco here in Colorado. It has been so good,” she says in her post, showing off a huge bowl of ripe melon cut up into bite-sized pieces.

She Straightens Up Her House

She moves on with her morning routine. “Then I straightened up. I made my bed. I make my bed every single day. I just feel like it's the right way to start my day. Then I got onto some of the projects I have been working on around the homestead,” she says.

Meal Two: Autumn Fruit Bowl

She is ready for another meal! “Then I moved on to what I like to call my second breakfast with all these gorgeous autumn fruits,” she says. “I had this big autumn bowl with pears and pomegranate and oranges and grapes. It was so good.”

Meal Three: Falafel Bowl with Veggies

Her next meal is a delicious Mediterranean-inspired dish. “For lunch, I made my raw Cava bowl with my raw falafel and my lemon herb tahini dressing, which is so good. This recipe will be in my raw 10-Day Jumpstart Guide,” she reveals. The bowl consists of homemade falafel, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, and onion.

Exercise: Walking

Despite her busy schedule, Kiki makes sure to get her steps in. “I had to run down to the city about 40 minutes away for my daughter's practice,” she said. Instead of sitting around, she used the time to get fit and walk her dog. “While she practiced, nacho and I walked for about an hour,” she says.

Meal Four: Dragon Fruit and Grapes

She was ready for another snack when she got back. “When we got home, I had some of this yellow dragon fruit, which is my favorite of all the dragon fruits, and some green grapes,” she says.

Sauna

Now, it is time for a little heat therapy. “Then I got in my regular sauna session,” she continued. Should you take a dry sauna? While some claim the health benefits of saunas are plentiful, including detoxification, increased metabolism, weight loss, increased blood circulation, pain reduction, antiaging, skin rejuvenation, improved cardiovascular function, improved immune function, improved sleep, stress management, and relaxation, there isn’t a lot of research backing up the claims.

Meal Five: Japanese Nourish Bowl

For dinner, she has a bowl filled with rice, greens, and root veggies. “I made the Japanese Nourish Bowl out of my newest weight loss guide and cookbook, Plantifully Simple, which is in stores and still $10 off on Amazon,” she says.

Meal Six: Popcorn

Instead of a sweet treat, she opts for a savory final snack at night. “I finished the day with some popcorn and watched the Anne of Green Gables Show with my youngest,” she says. And if you enjoyed this article, take advantage of these 15 Quick Ways to Lose Body Fat Percentage in a Week.

Do you want to lose 40 pounds in 3 months? Consider starting with a diet overhaul. Ciara Foster, AKA Ciara Honey Fit, is a social media influencer who creates a lot of wellness and weight loss content on her YouTube channel. “Today I am going to do a much, much requested and overdue video, how I lost 40 pounds in three months. I get this question so much,” she says. Here are the simple changes she made to burn fat fast.

Changing Her Diet Was Key to Her Weight Loss

Ciara reveals that she gained 80 pounds as a result of dealing with medical issues. “One of the biggest things that I did to lose 40 pounds in three months was to change my diet. I've eaten healthy for a while, but I got to a point where I was just so frustrated with my health and with the weight gain that I got to a point where it just seemed like I didn't even care as much anymore,” she says at the start of the clip.

She Met with a Nutritionist

Portrait of cheerful dietitian in lab coat pointing at fresh fruits and vegetables on table, smiling at camera at clinic. Weight loss consultant recommending healthy plant based dietShutterstock

“The first thing I did was to see a nutritionist. That nutritionist also was a doctor,” Ciara says. “She helped to create a meal plan for me that was very specific to what my body needed.” She said it is important to have a “specified meal plan for you that will help you to lose weight.”

“My meal plan consists of a balance of protein, carbs, and fats, with protein being my highest amount of nutrition that I take in with some fats and some carbs,” Ciara says, revealing that she focuses and organizes her meals around this. “That's the basis and the foundation of my diet and nutrition.”

Breakfast: Eggs, Turkey Bacon, Low Carb Tortillas, Almond Butter

Fried eggs and bacon cooking in a skilletShutterstock

For breakfast, she has eggs, turkey bacon, low-carb tortillas, “and I'll put almond butter in them,” Ciara says. “So I've got my protein, starch, and my fat.”

Lunch: Salads

For lunch, she has “Kardashian salad,” Ciara reveals, “because it reminds me so much of those big old salads that the Kardashians eat with two boiled eggs. Just because I'm not huge on meat, I'll eat mostly fish and seafood, but I really don't eat much like poultry or pork or beef. And I'll drizzle a little bit of salad dressing on it for my fat. And then I'll also have a starch, which lately I've been having Pirate’s Booty. I'm gonna start getting away from that and leaning more towards sweet potato and more like healthy starches instead of processed.”

Dinner: Protein and Veggies

“For dinner, I like to have protein and veggies,” Ciara continues. “My favorite right now is salmon and Brussels sprouts. I love Brussels sprouts and I love salmon. I make my own salmon. I just season it up really well, throw it in the oven, and it's actually really easy.”

She Added Cheat Days…

Reminder Cheat Meal Day in calendar with green pen. Close-up.Shutterstock

“One big thing that really helped me with my diet was that I used Monday through Friday pretty much eat healthy, and then Saturday and Sunday were like my cheat days,” she says. “What I started doing was narrowing myself down to one cheat meal per week. Really just being more strict about my weekends. That really can make a difference in the long run in terms of how quickly you're able to lose weight,” Ciara says.

And if you wanna lose weight quickly and drop the weight fast, you really, really have to limit those cheat days and those cheat meals. And reducing my cheat meals or cheat days to one cheat meal helped me lose the weight quicker,” Ciara says.

Eliminating Alcohol

“Something else that helped me to lose 40 pounds in three months was eliminating alcohol,” she says. “It was really, really hard for me because I am a wine person. Drinking is a social thing that affects the way that I interact with people at events that I tend not to and things like that. But if you want to lose weight quickly and drop the weight fast, then I definitely recommend eliminating or trying to cut down on your alcohol intake.” She set a goal for herself of two weeks, then a month, and then another month, and “ended up going the full three months without drinking.”

Meal Prepping

“Meal prepping was very, very integral in me losing 40 pounds in three months,” Ciara says. This helped her eliminate fast food from her diet and eating out. “I like to meal prep at the beginning of the week, and that way, I have all my meals for the week or a good portion of them, and it just eliminates that factor of always eating out or eating fast food or eating things that are not good for me,” she explains.

Are you trying to lose weight on a plant-based diet? One weight loss warrior claims to have the secret recipe. Stasia is a wellness enthusiast who shares her plant-based tactics for losing weight. In a recent viral YouTube video, she reveals the three ingredients that were her secret weapon for dropping pounds without starving herself. “I recently lost 60 pounds following a whole food plant-based diet,” she says in the video. “I have struggled for many, many years to lose weight, even following a plant-based diet. So it wasn't until recently that I made a few changes, and I finally got it together, and I'm 60 pounds down at this point,” she says. She continues to explain that she is going to reveal “the easiest, most simple weight loss dinner that I personally recommend eating,” she says.

She Eats This Meal on Repeat

“I do know firsthand what it's like to struggle with weight as I have my entire life. And I also know what it's like to feel completely overwhelmed with all the different food choices out there. It's exhausting and completely frustrating when you're honestly trying your hardest,” she says in her post. “I'm going to be showing you the most simple weight loss dinner that you can easily prepare. You can eat it on repeat, and I'm going to tell you exactly why you should be eating these foods.”

It Is the “Easiest” Meal

“I really enjoy eating delicious food. I'm a huge advocate that we should really enjoy the food that we're eating, not just choking something down in the name of weight loss. But with that being said, sometimes there are those days that I'm just not really in the mood to cook, or maybe I'm just too hungry to be, you know, spending too much time preparing something. And when that is the case, this is basically my easiest meal that I default to all the time,” she continues.

You Only Need Three Ingredients, Starting with a Sweet or White Potato

“To make this super easy weight loss dinner, you will only need three core ingredients. The first one is that you're going to need a potato. Now, this can be a regular potato, or it can be a sweet potato–totally up to you. Personally, I love sweet potatoes, but I also love a good old regular potato as well. So honestly, it really doesn't matter,” she says.

Next, You Need ½ Cup Beans

“The second thing you're going to need is any type of beans. So, for me, I personally love making my beans from scratch because they are literally as soft as butter, so, so, so much better than the canned beans. I really just can't even do canned beans anymore now that I've been making them on my own. So I make them in an Instant Pot, and oh my gosh, they turn out perfect every single time,” she says.

The Third Ingredient Is a Non-Starchy Veggie

The third thing that you're going to need is some type of non-starchy veggie. “Again, it can be whichever one you want. So you could do zucchini noodles, which I love. You can do broccoli; I love that as well. Cauliflower, eggplant, any type of non-starchy veggie that you'd like, whatever floats your boat, you just need some type of non-starchy vegetable,” she says.

The Potato Will Keep You Satiated

Why do you need these three things to make the easy, perfect dinner? “The potato is actually known to be the most satiating food in the world. So that means that there is no other food that's going to leave you feeling as satisfied getting up from the dinner table. So potatoes just have that X factor. You're just going to get up from the table feeling like you know you just ate some really good food.”

RELATED: This Plan Is How to Lose 5 Percent Body Fat In 2 Weeks

Beans Will Keep You Full

Why beans? “Beans have actually been a huge part of my weight loss journey. I actually prefer beans even over potatoes when it comes to keeping me full. So I found that potatoes were the most satisfying in terms of having that comfort food and just feeling like, ‘Hmm, that was really delicious, and I feel really good as soon as I'm done eating.’ But that beans actually carried me a lot longer than even potatoes. So in terms of keeping me full, I would say that beans come before even potatoes.”

Veggies Are Low-calorie

Lastly, why the non-starchy vegetable? “Non-starchy veggies are only about 100 calories per pound. A pound of vegetables is quite a bit of food. So, 100 calories for a pound is incredible. So we use our non-starchy vegetables to fill us up,” she says, noting that they will be “the cherry on top to the meal and make sure that it just tops us off with foods that are super low in calories, but that is going to make us feel like we're nice and full,” she says. “Not to mention, of course, all the nutrition that comes along with eating our vegetables.”

Whip This Meal Up When You Are Busy

“Hands down, if you ever find yourself in a situation again where you really just don't know what to eat, then just remember those three things to follow, and then you can easily whip yourself up a plate in no time. So potato, beans and a non-starchy veggie are the three things you can build the most epic simple weight loss dinner,” she says.

Final Note: Don’t Overcomplicate Diet

“It doesn't always have to be super complicated. Simple works wonders as well. So, next time you're feeling a little bit lost, just stick to those three things, and you're going to be golden,” she concludes. Do you want to lose weight on a plant-based diet without being constantly hungry? Melissa Alexandria is a vegan weight loss coach who helps her clients and YouTube subscribers drop weight fast by eating a plant-based diet. In one of her viral videos, she reveals the habits that helped her drop 30 pounds in 30 weeks – and, more importantly, keep the weight off. “I'm going to share six habits I did daily that helped to put the weight loss on autopilot during that initial weight loss phase,” she says in the clip.

She Lost One Pound Per Week

“At the end of 2019, I became fascinated by calorie density and went all in on a low-fat vegan diet. I lost about a pound per week, totaling over 30 pounds,” she says in the clip. “Since then, it hasn't always been easy to keep out of the junk food as it is all around us, but I've stayed within my ideal weight range all of these years.” Here are her six habits:

1. She Ate Large Meals and Made Sure She Was Full

“Number one, I ate very large meals and made sure I was completely full at mealtimes,” she says. “This was important for several reasons. One, I knew the starch-based, oil-free meals were very low in calorie density, so I needed to eat larger amounts of food in order to be fully satiated. When you're not adding fake vegan meat and vegan cheese to your meals or oily sauces and dressings, the calorie density goes way down,” she says.

Eating Calorie-Dense Meals Curbed Cravings

“The other reason was that I didn't wanna have to fight cravings for junk food after my meals. When I ate larger portions of these low-fat vegan meals like sweet potato, black bean chili, lentil, and broccoli stuffed baked potatoes or a veggie rice bowl, I barely had any cravings to snack on junk because I was so full. I find that potatoes and beans are the two key foods that are most satiating and prevent future junk cravings after I eat them,” she says.

RELATED:Dance Trainer Reveals 6 Ballet Secrets for a Lean, Toned Body

2. She Snacked on Fruit

“Number two, the next thing I did was snack on fruit daily,” she reveals. “Bananas are 400 calories per pound, and almost all other fruits are way less than that. Cherries, for example, are 225 calories per pound. Cantaloupe melon is 153 calories per pound, so eating water and fiber-rich fruits are the perfect snack. They give you that natural sweetness of a dessert without the high-fat content.”

3. She Went to Bed Early

“Number three, I went to bed early,” she says. “Super helpful if you have a habit of snacking after dinner and late into the evening. If you go to bed early, it sorts that issue out for you, and you don't have to use willpower not to eat junk food late at night.”

4. She Walked 10,000 Steps Per Day

“Number four, I walked 10,000 steps daily, and I kept track of it,” she says. “I literally would give myself a check mark when I first started every day just to continue to motivate myself to stay on track with it. It's so important to move your body for overall well-being.

RELATED:6 Metabolism Mistakes Making Women Over 40 Gain Weight

5. She Listened to Inspirational and Motivational Podcasts

On her walks, she listens to “inspirational and motivational podcasts and YouTube videos, which is tip number five,” she says. One of her go-to's is Dr. John McDougall, who wrote “The Starch Solution.” “Even just 10 minutes per day of an online medical lecture or vlog, hearing tips and other people's experiences with losing weight and keeping it off with eating this way, I found it to be especially helpful because I didn't know anyone else who was eating this way. So it feels like you're part of a community online when you watch other people's videos.”

6. She Focused on the Big Picture

“Tip number six, I focused on the big picture, the long goal, and I didn't obsess about how much I weighed or how much weight I lost that day,” she says. “There were some weeks I stepped on the scale, and it showed no change at all. I didn't let that discourage me one bit because I knew the weight would come off. I knew I was moving in the right direction, and I wasn't in a rush. Even if it took a whole year, that didn't matter. I was proud of myself for sticking with something healthy and that I was no longer eating the junk food vegan stuff that I was previously eating.”

She Weighs Weekly Versus Daily

She also steps on the scale, but not every day. “Weighing weekly versus daily helps with this because daily fluctuations can sometimes make it look like you've gained weight, when really it's not, it's just water weight or undigested food, etcetera,” she says.

Be Kind and Patient with Yourself

“I just want to remind you to be kind and patient with yourself and fall in love with the process of taking care of yourself rather than rushing to lose weight as fast as you possibly can. It will take how long it takes, and if you're enjoying your days in the meantime and enjoying the healthy, yummy meals, then that's okay,” she concludes. A TikToker who goes by Vegan of the Sea lost 40 pounds and turned her health around after adopting an oil-free, vegan diet. “Had you told me I’d end up a vegan one day, I’d say you’re crazy, but here I am. I feel more energized than ever, and I love knowing I’m nourishing my body with every bite I take of food,” she captioned a post. So how exactly did she lose weight and keep it off for almost three years now? Here’s what she eats every day to be fit, happy, and healthy.

No Oils!

@vegan.of.the.sea

I completely changed my life by switching to an oil-free plant based diet and I lost 40 pounds in doing so! Had you told me I’d end up a vegan one day, I’d say you’re crazy, but here I am. I feel more energized than ever, and I love knowing I’m nourishing my body with every bite I take of food. How did I lose the weight? I switched to an oil free, vegan, high carb, low fat diet. Yes, even healthy fats for weight loss. I now incorporate more fats than I used to, but I still exclude oil. Why no oil? Because it’s the most calorie dense food in the planet. One tbsp of oil has 119 calories! And who stops at just one? You could eat 4 cups of broccoli for the same amount of calories! Is it starting to make sense now? I’ve eaten this way for 2.5 years now and I’m filled with delicious vegan recipes I want to share with you! Follow along for healthy, veggie filled meals! #vegan #plantbased #weightloss

There is no oil in this vegan’s diet. “I switched to an oil-free, vegan, high-carb, low-fat diet. Yes, even healthy fats are good for weight loss. I now incorporate more fats than I used to, but I still exclude oil,” she says. “Why no oil? Because it’s the most calorie-dense food on the planet. One tbsp of oil has 119 calories! And who stops at just one? You could eat 4 cups of broccoli for the same amount of calories! Is it starting to make sense now?”

Lots of Vegetables

This influencer loves filling up on non-starchy vegetables. “No, I don’t eat only bread and potatoes, but they literally make up half of my diet,” she captioned a video. “The other half? Non-starchy vegetables. By eating this way, you are going to be full and satisfied, cut out cravings, eat as much as you want, and still lose weight.”

This TikToker sticks to real whole foods, not fake ultra-processed vegan meat alternatives. “Yes I’m vegan, but stick to a whole food, high starch, low fat plant based diet also known as the starch solution,” she says.

Mindful of Fats

Vegan of the Sea says she would rather eat an avocado than have avocado oil. “I limit my fat intake,” she says in a caption. “Even my healthy fats. So even though nuts and avocados are vegan, they pack a lot of calories per pound. So I limit these high calorie, fatty foods.”

No Calorie Counting

While this TikToker is mindful of high-calorie fats, she doesn’t count calories in her daily diet. “I have lost the weight from calorie density eating,” she says in a caption. “So I eat an abundance of foods low in calories. This way of eating allows me to eat as much as I want without counting calories.”

50/50 Plate

@vegan.of.the.sea

‼️The foods I stopped eating and lost 40 lbs‼️ And kept it off for 2.5 years! I still eat the foods I love and eat as much as I want, whenever I want, without counting calories. I’ve realized I’m a quantity eater and I don’t want to eat only half my meal. I want to eat until I’m full and this way of eating allows me to do that, making it sustainable for me. I follow a few rules when eating. As long as I stick to these rules, the weight has come off and stayed off. 1️⃣ I don’t eat oil. Yep! Oil is the most calorie dense food on the planet. 4,000 calories per pound. I’d rather eat foods that are actually going to fill me up. One potato is about the same calories as 1 tbsp of oil! A potato is one of the most filling foods on the planet! I’d rather eat the potato and feel full and satisfied for hours. 2️⃣ I eat a plant based diet. I don’t eat any animal products and avoid overly processed vegan foods like fake meats and cheeses. 3️⃣ I keep the fats low. Even healthy fats. Again, it comes down to calorie density. Fats have more calories per pound than protein and carbs. So be careful when consuming nuts, avacado, coconut…etc. 4️⃣ I do the 50/50 plate. I make sure half of my plate is a non starchy veggie and the other half is a starch (ie potatoes, beans, rice, banza pasta etc) By not dressing your foods with a bunch of fats and oil, eating this way guarantees your meal will be low in calories and you will be able to eat an abundance of food until you are full and satisfied so DON’T be scared of carbs! They are what’s going to keep you full and satisfied for hours. I know this way of eating sounds extreme at first, but it truly is so easy once you get the hang of it. Stop focusing on the things you can’t have and start focusing on the foods you CAN! Because you can still eat SO much! I eat tacos, sushi, pasta etc. And I can almost guarantee you’re going to feel amazing since you’re nourishing your body and most likely dropping extra pounds. This TikToker follows what she calls the “50/50” plate. This means half of her plate is a healthy starch, and the other is a non-starchy vegetable. “This allows me to eat as much as I want and not overconsume calories. The mass quantity of food will fill you up, and the starches will keep you full for hours,” she says.

Avoiding White Flour

Vegan of the Sea avoids white flour options and focuses on high-fiber ones instead. “I play around with chickpea flour, oat flour, lentil and bean pasta, corn or brown rice tortillas, Ezekiel bread…etc,” she says in a caption. “These foods have more fiber and nutrients than white flour and will aid in your weight loss.”

This TikToker says losing weight is just a small part of the benefits she gets from her new lifestyle. She sees improvements in her skin and energy levels and is in the best shape of her life. “It didn’t happen overnight, but I found a lifestyle that was doable for me,” she says.

Meal Prepping

Vegan of the Sea is a big fan of meal prepping, making big batches every time. This way, there is always something healthy to snack on. “Eating this way, you literally eat as much as you want, whenever you want, as long as you’re eating the right food,” she says.

Diet Before Exercise

This TikToker feels that diet is far more important for her weight loss than exercise. She became physically active later in her weight loss journey. “I started slow and worked my way up, but my success has come mostly from my diet,” she says.

She Loves Potatoes

Consistency Is Key

@vegan.of.the.sea

But wait❗️There’s more👇 Yes! You can eat carbs and still lose weight! You can actually eat mostly carbs and lose weight! Just hear me out! 1 cup of rice = 206 calories 1 cup of oil = 1,910 calories 1 cup of butter = 1,627 1 cup of cheese = 531 calories 1 cup of avocado = 384 calories 1 cup mixed nuts = 813 calories 1 cup of ground beef = 339 calories The starches aren’t the problem! In fact, our ancestors thrived off of a starch heavy diet! No I don’t eat only bread and potatoes, but they literally make up half of my diet. The other half? Non starchy vegetables. By eating this way, you are going to be full and satisfied, cut out cravings, eat as much as you want and still lose weight. What can you make out of these ingredients? Everything! Pizza, pasta, enchiladas, phad Thai, sushi, desserts, burritos, soup, casseroles! Everything! Things I don’t eat Animal products! So no eggs, dairy or meat. I am completely vegan. Oil! Oil is the most calorie dense food on the planet. Offers no fiber and almost no nutritional value. I’d rather eat an avocado, not avocado oil. But with that said, I limit my fat intake. Even my healthy fats. So even though nuts and avocado are vegan, they pack a lot of calories per pound. So I limit these high calorie, fatty foods. No fake vegan foods. Yes I’m vegan, but stick to a whole food, high starch, low fat plant based diet also known as the starch solution. Before hating on it, look into it! This way of eating was created by a doctor and has helped thousands of people lose weight and cure Illnesses. And yes! I get plenty of protein! This TikToker was successful because she found something that worked for her long term.

“It’s the only thing that's ever worked for me, and I’ve kept the weight off for 2.5 years. Enjoy it, or it won’t last,” she captioned a post.

Are you trying to lean out? It might be time to make some changes to your routine. Keith Ozment is a fitness and weight loss coach specializing in helping people over 30 “repair metabolism, build muscle & burn fat!” he writes in his Instagram bio. In a new post, he reveals that he had to make some tweaks to his routine to shave off the pounds. “These 4 changes got me the leanest ever at 40,” he says in the post.

After He Turned 40 He Had to Make Some Changes

“I’ve been working out consistently for over 20 years. I would always get strong and put on size but struggled to get super lean. I wanted to bring in my 40th birthday by reaching the goal of being leaner than I’ve ever been. I made these 4 Changes,” he writes.

1. Patience:

“In the past, I’d start my summer cut in March, rush the process, and burn out before summer even arrived. This year, I started in January and ditched the deadlines. Instead, I focused on making sustainable lifestyle changes. By not rushing, I achieved better results without feeling drained,” he said.

2. Daily Steps

“Walking is underrated!” he says. In January, I struggled to hit 8,000-10,000 steps. Now, I average 12,000-14,000 daily by getting creative.” He takes 10-minute walks throughout the day and a 30-minute walk after dinner. “I even recommend a walking pad if outdoor walks aren’t realistic,” he says. “BONUS: My clients who prioritize daily steps see the best progress. Every 10 minutes = ~1,000 steps.”

3. Zero Restriction

He also advises against restriction. “Instead of ‘getting it all out of my system’ with a cheat meal, I now enjoy foods I love every day,” he says.

  • Greek yogurt cereal bowls (w/ chocolate chips)
  • Weekends = burgers, fries, or protein pancakes at @ihop

“This approach feels sustainable and keeps cravings in check. But I stay mindful of total calories and always hit my protein + fiber goals,” he says.

However Calories Matter

“It’s not all about calories, but let’s be honest—it kinda is when it comes to fat loss,” he continues. “Once I got real with myself about tracking everything (yes, even those sneaky bites while cooking), the fat loss results spoke for themselves. It’s about creating balance with total calories and consuming nutrient dense foods. 80/20 rule! Gotta hit that protein goal also! Every day!”

4. Sleep & Recovery

Sleep and recovery is a “game-changer!” he says. “Consistent sleep/wake times = better rest. Blue light blocker glasses before bed. Active rest days (1-hour walks instead of weightlifting),” he says.

Also, Start Your Day with 40 Grams of Protein

In another post, he reveals his 40-30-20 method. First, the 40. “Start your day with 40g of protein. A breakfast smoothie with protein powder, berries, and almond milk or overnight oats with Greek yogurt and protein powder are great options,” he writes. According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW) but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

Walk for 30 Minutes

Next up, the 30. “Walk for 30 minutes daily. Split it into two 15-minute sessions if needed. Walking boosts metabolism, reduces stress, and aids fat loss,” he says. A 2018 study published in the journal Obesity found a link between walking 10,000 steps a day and weight loss and weight management. Other studies published by the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) in JAMA Neurology and in JAMA Internal Medicine also linked walking 10,000 steps a day to less dementia and less cardiovascular disease overall, with less heart disease, less heart failure and fewer strokes.

Lift Weights for 20 Minutes

And finally, the 20. “Dedicate 20 minutes to weightlifting 3-4 days a week,” he adds. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you develop strong bones, manage your weight, enhance your quality of life, manage chronic conditions, and sharpen your thinking skills. “Limit the bread baskets and chips that come before your meal! Listen, I love the Texas Roadhouse Rolls as much as anyone, but you can easily fill up on those if you aren’t careful! Enjoy a small amount, but be aware of earlier satiety with GLP-1 meds!” she says.

Order Condiments on the Side

Get your condiments on the side. “Ask for heavy sauces or dressings on the side if able! This can help you control how much is used. A lot of times, heavy sauces or dressings can be higher in fat, which may not be tolerated well with GLP-1 meds,” she writes.

Are you burning out with your workout routine? It could be preventing you from losing weight. Jenna Rizzo is a fitness influencer and online coach who helps her clients “shed inches off their waist without crash dieting.” In a new Instagram post, she focuses on a popular workout method. “Let me share with you something most women don’t know when it comes to losing weight,” she writes, revealing the workout you should skip and why.

Working Out Too Hard Can Slow Results

“Working out too hard can slow down your results,” she says. While you are “supposed to work hard in the gym” there is a such thing as overdoing it. “I live for the days I walk out of the gym feeling like a baby deer after a good leg day. BUT There’s a fine line between pushing yourself enough to get amazing results and doing workouts that are just hard for the sake of being hard,” she says.

She Doesn’t Recommend High-Intensity or Bootcamp Workouts

“No rhyme or reason - just balls to the wall, high heart rate, as many calories as you can burn workout that just leaves you dead,” is not a good approach, per Rizzo. “I see this all the time with ‘fitness influencer’ workouts, bootcamp classes, hiit workouts.. I even fell for the mentality that was the ‘best’ way to workout - peep my before pic lol. But there’s a few reasons these workouts can create issues,” she continues.

RELATED:8 High-Protein Foods with Nearly Zero Calories That Melt Fat

Too Much Volume

The first reason they don’t work is too much volume. “Busting out 50 squats is impressive, but not exactly practical. How do you progress from that? Do 100 reps next week? 200 reps the week after?” she says.

Too Much Focus on the Weight and Not Muscles

She also says that many people are “too focused on just moving the weight - not the muscles you want to target,” which isn’t good. “Never taking the time to develop a mind muscle connection, it’s likely you won’t ever hit the intended muscle you’re trying to work.”

RELATED:10 Foods to Avoid If You're Trying to Burn Fat, Says Expert

Not Resting Enough

Finally, not taking adequate rest is another common faux pas with these workouts. “This goes for inside and outside the gym. Take more than 60 seconds rest time between sets and give yourself minimum 1 full rest day per week,” she says.

She Recommends Her “Minimalist Training System”

“I’ve used my minimalist training system on myself & with my clients for a while now.. & I’ve yet to have a client who’s not a little shocked at their plan for being so easy compared to anything they’ve done before lol.. But the results continue to speak for themselves.”

Also, If You Want to Lose Weight Fast, Hydrate

In another post, she reveals how she loses weight fast, starting with hydration. “Number one, I'm going to make sure I'm drinking a ton of water,” says Rizzo. “Now, I know a lot of times people think that drinking a ton of water is gonna cause you to retain a ton of water, but it actually does the opposite. You can kind of think of it as flushing out your system.”

Also Decrease Carb Intake

“Number two, I'm gonna be eating slightly lower carbs. So have you ever heard of when people do keto and they magically drop five pounds in like two days and everybody thinks it's magic? Well this is because when you eat carbs, your body's gonna hold onto a certain amount of water weight because of it. So when you cut back on your carbs, your body's gonna be able to let go of a decent bit of water, which again will help us look a little bit tighter and leaner,” Rizzo continues.

And Amp Up Fiber and Probiotic Intake

“Number three, I'm eating at least 30 grams of fiber and getting some good probiotics in. So this is gonna be really good for your gut help, help keep you regular, if you know what I mean. Gonna help cut down on any inflammation and bloating you might have in your gut,” she says.

Sleep More

“And number four, I'm getting as much sleep as I possibly can and if you know me, you know, I prioritize sleep over almost everything when it comes to weight loss because most people truly aren't getting enough. But in this particular instance, I'm getting good long deep sleep to help cut back any inflammation and unwanted water weight,” Rizzo concludes. What are the other health benefits of sleep? According to the Sleep Foundation, getting enough z’s is a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, improves mental function, restores your immune system, and helps relieve stress in addition to aiding in weight loss.
