Just because the season is over and we will all have to wait a long time before the next group of tourists arrives at another location of the luxury fictional resort, there are still things to be learned about some of the season’s leading ladies. Here are The White Lotus season three cast's real-life health hacks and diet and fitness secrets.

Michelle Monaghan Focuses Nutrition Around Protein

Michelle Monaghan, who just turned 49, focuses her nutrition around protein. "Breakfast is my fuel for the day. It might be a bowl of goat's-milk yogurt with granola, berries, and raisins, and maybe shaved almonds and flaxseed thrown in, and a banana smoothie,” she dished to Women’s Health. Overall, she isn’t a fan of diets. "I don't think they make sense,” Michelle says about diets. “Ultimately, it's eating sensibly...but if I'm at a restaurant, all bets are off!" She eats salads “three or four times a week.” Turkey sandwiches with avocado and a slice of Swiss cheese are another favorite, and also homemade soup, "broccoli, cauliflower, butternut squash—make a big batch and you have it for days," she says. Fish, including trout and salmon, paired with steamed or roasted veggies or brown rice, is one of her favorite dinners.

Leslie Bibb Does Yoga and Meditates

Leslie Bibb, who just turned 50, relies on yoga and meditation. “I am a morning person, by the way, so I like to get up early and I like to listen to some jazz. And then I try to do yoga with my yoga teacher, this wonderful teacher in Los Angeles, Jenny Brill. It just gets me back in my body,” she told The Zoe Report. “I think yoga is like a treat for myself because I do a private [lesson], which is nice.” She added: “Yoga for me has been a really centering, good thing.” She also gets her zen on. “I always try to meditate. I've done a meditation class. I have a mantra. I have it all. But it's hard sometimes. My brain can get a little busy,” she says.

Carrie Coon Strength Trains

Carrie Coon 44, is all about exercising. She even brings workout equipment with her when she travels. “I’m a very good packer,” Coon told Harper’s Bazaar. “I experience a lot of shame if I have a heavy suitcase. I find myself telling the person checking my bag, ‘I’m so sorry. I have some weights in there because there isn’t a gym at this hotel….’ And my husband’s like, ‘Nobody cares!’ But I have to tell everyone why it’s heavy.” The actress enjoys strength training, sharing her go-to workout in July 2024.

Charlotte Le Bon, 38, is all about hot and cold soaks. Her Instagram feed shows she enjoys cold plunging in freezing lakes. Limited research supports the benefits of cold plunges, which may include easing sore muscles, bringing body temperature down, increasing focus, improving sleep, and decreasing inflammation, per the Cleveland Clinic. However, a 2021 study found that cold water immersion therapy promotes post-sport recovery. She also takes baths. Clay locks on sixties tiles,” she captioned an image. Hot water soaks have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits. According to Loughborough University research published in the journal Temperature, relaxing in a hot bath can burn as many calories as a 30-minute walk, about 140 calories.

During filming, Aimee Lou Wood, 31, indulged in Thailand’s local cuisine. “Thai food in general is pretty amazing - it’s so hearty and flavoursome. But my addiction out there was Thai coconuts - they get fresh coconuts out of the trees, cut off the tops and put in a straw, and I couldn’t get enough of them,” she told Marie Claire UK. “It was full on, and at one point I was like, am I making myself ill? I don’t think I’m supposed to have this much coconut water! People kept telling me, ‘Aimee Lou, you’re having a lot of coconut!’ as if it was some really risky thing, but it was becoming a problem. I couldn’t go five minutes without a coconut!”

Parker Posey Relies on Ayurvedic Practices

Parker Posey, 56, has been practicing Ayurveda for many years. “I spent some time in New Mexico -- I was doing a movie called The Eye -- where there is the Ayurvedic Institute. I hit it off with them and sat in on some lectures, and it was fascinating. Your journey is to heal yourself through what your body is telling you. I hit it off with them and sat in on some lectures at the Institute, and it was fascinating,” she once told WebMD, revealing that her dominant type is Dosha Pita. “It's small frame, quick mind, consume things quickly and forget just as easily. There are foods and herbs you can take to counter that. Your journey is to heal yourself through what your body is telling you.” She also changed her diet. “I gave up wheat and sugar. And coffee. [I] have more energy, [am] not as tired, not taking naps, not moody, not lethargic -- since I [also] gave up red meat, and I eat the occasional chicken. I feel so much saner. And I'm obsessed with bitter melon,” she said. And if you enjoyed this article, don’t miss How White Lotus Star Michelle Monaghan Looks Flawless and Flat-Abbed at 49.

The White Lotus has turned Aimee Lou Wood into a household name overnight. The British beauty, 31, plays Chelsea, a younger woman in love with an older man (Walton Goggins) with an eccentric, body-baring style sense. How does the actress maintain her impressive physique? Body Network details all of Aimee Lou Wood’s health and wellness secrets.

She Battled an Eating Disorder

Wood openly discusses the eating disorder she battled when she was younger. "I was so detached from my body when I was in the eating disorders, it was like I was outside it, scrutinizing it. I am very gradually getting over that,” she told The Observer.

She Went to Therapy

Wood credits therapy with not only helping her through her eating disorder but being bullied. "I'd thought it was the comments that were making me have those relapses. But now I realize it wasn't the comments — it was because I was laughing them off. I wasn't telling people to stop talking to me like that. I was saying it later, through the sideways expression of the eating disorder. I wanted to be liked. I wanted them to think I was a legend!" she told The Observer.

She Takes Digital Detoxes

Wood told Marie Claire UK that she takes digital detoxes for her mental health. “I have just deactivated my Instagram and I feel so smug. I’ve done it for five days now, and I feel like a different person. But I think I would do scarily well on a digital detox - if I could never reply to anything ever again, I would. But that’s risky for me - I have to have some kind of contact and connection to the real world,” she had said.

Her Mindfulness Tip

I'm terrible at mindfulness, and I need to get better at it. My friend has actually just taught me that thing where you breathe in and block one nostril, and that one helps! She said I should do that for five minutes before I ever make a scary decision because I need to stop making decisions when I’m in fight or flight. I’ll just be like ‘yes’ or I’ll detonate something, and she’s been telling me to pause. I need to ‘pause action until serenity enters’, and do a bit of breathing.

She Admits “It Feels So Lovely” That People Are Embracing Her Teeth

Early in her career, Wood was bullied for her teeth, but it has come full circle. During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, she revealed that people have thanked her for normalizing her unique smile. “I can’t believe the impact my teeth are having,” Wood said. “Because the Americans can’t believe—but they’re all being lovely.” She admits that she previously worried about not getting roles because she didn’t have “perfect Hollywood teeth,” and still gets comments from haters who “dissect” her smile. “But at the end go, ‘But we don’t think she should change a thing,’” she added.“Oh my God, it feels so lovely,” Wood said. “A real full-circle moment after being bullied for my teeth forever. Now people are clapping in an audience because I’ve got these gnashers.” And if you enjoyed this article, don’t miss How White Lotus Star Michelle Monaghan Looks Flawless and Flat-Abbed at 49.

Sohee Carpenter (@soheefit) is showing off her chiseled abs and revealing the healthy habits responsible for them. In a new social media post the fitness expert and influencer looks amazing in a two-piece workout set, and shares some tips with her followers. “Why I prioritize health behaviors over body weight alone,” she writes in the first slide. She goes on to list a few easy ways to incorporate this into your life. What are her “healthy habits”? The Body Network has the details.

Healthy Lifestyle

Sohee, who battled body image issues as a teen, tries to promote healthy behaviors. “Even though I’m a certified strength and conditioning specialist, the majority of my content is focused on body image and eating behavior,” she told Women’s Health. “The workouts are usually not the part people struggle with—it’s the eating, the sleep, the everything else.”

Carbs Are Not the Enemy, She Says

One thing Sohee does is challenge people to rethink their diet. For example, a former client had a habit of avoiding carbs until dinner and overeating at night. So, she challenged her to question the assumption that carbs aren’t so-called breakfast foods. She encouraged the woman to add rice or potatoes to her morning meal for a number of days. “A month later, she’s like, ‘Oh my god, I’m not bingeing anymore. This is so cool.’”

Moving Daily

In Sohee’s recent post she lists several healthy habits that keep her mentally and physically fit. A few of them have to do with “getting in daily movement.” She recommends “strength training multiple days per week.” Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

A Colorful Diet & Hydration

As for diet, Sohee says you should focus on eating “colorful fibrous veggies,” protein, and whole grains in most, if not all, meals.”

She also encourages “staying sufficiently hydrated.” The Mayo Clinic explains that water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.

Sleep and Rest

Sohee also maintains that “making time for rest and rejuvenation” is important, as is “prioritizing adequate quality sleep. According to the Sleep Foundation, getting enough z’s is a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, improves mental function, restores your immune system, helps relieve stress, and aids in weight loss.

Mark Lewis isn't your typical fitness influencer. After struggling with weight and motivation in his 30s, he transformed himself into a multi-sport competitor who now creates content full-time. But recently, he decided to try something controversial: the "celebrity fat jab." His candid experience might surprise you.

Understanding How These Weight Loss Drugs Work

" Ozempic enhances the release and action of insulin throughout the body, which helps with fat loss," explainsDr. Sue Decotiis, MD, NYC weight-loss doctor. She adds that these medications "have a tremendous effect on satiety, shutting down appetite so the patient feels very full after eating much less food."

Why Even A Fitness Expert Needed Help

"I have been very overweight in the past, and it has always been down to something up here encouraging me to eat when I don't really want to eat," Lewis explains in his video. He describes his challenge not as a lack of willpower but rather an "infuriating excess of strength" where the part of his brain wanting to eat is simply stronger than any other part.

The Hormone Reset Effect

Dr. Decotiis explains that these medications "help regulate people's hormones that have changed due to aging, stress, etc. so that they can lose weight." This aligns with Lewis's experience of suddenly having a completely different relationship with food.

RELATED:20 Possible Ozempic Side Effects

The Cost Reality: A Tale of Two Countries

Lewis reports that the medication costs between £100 and 200 monthly ($130 and $260) in the UK. "Americans are paying thousands," he notes. According to GoodRx, without insurance, Ozempic can cost between $937.98 and $1,014 per month in the US.

The Mental Breakthrough Nobody Talks About

"I have never forgotten to eat meals before," Lewis reveals. "I was just eating and thinking about eating normally for the first time in ever." Dr. Decotiis has observed similar psychological benefits: "When people lose weight, they have better self-esteem, and they feel more confident in their own skin."

Daily Life Changed Dramatically

Lewis found himself experiencing scenarios he "could just never have imagined before." He describes, "I was going on long car journeys and eating maybe a small packet of peanuts instead of an absolute barrage of junk food. I was buying petrol without picking up snacks." Even more surprising was his response to social situations: "When crisps and dips and stuff were put in front of me at friends' houses when socializing, I just had no interest beyond having maybe a couple. I wasn't fighting the urge to eat. I wasn't trying to keep those thoughts at bay. They just did not exist, and it was wonderful."

Freedom From Food Guilt

"In the last six weeks, I have not had any feelings of guilt from having overindulged, and I've not felt ill from having overindulged. I've enjoyed food more than I can remember," Lewis shares. The transformation went beyond just eating less – it changed his entire experience with food. He describes leaving the table "content" for the first time, without the usual mental battle of wanting second or third helpings. "If you have never experienced any sort of compulsive or addictive behavior, it's quite hard to explain what an absolute relief it is to just have them vanish."

The Medical Reality Behind the Hype

According to the National Library of Medicine, while Ozempic is primarily approved for type 2 diabetes, Wegovy (same medication, different brand) is specifically approved for weight management in adults with obesity or overweight adults with related health conditions.

Addressing the Critics and Stigma

"If you consult with your doctor and they deem it to be a safe and appropriate course of action, listen to your doctor. Do not listen to some Muppet yelling 'eat less, move more' on the internet," Lewis asserts.

The Long-Term Consideration

Studies show that one year after stopping the medication, participants regained two-thirds of their prior weight loss. This underscores Lewis's emphasis on using medication as a tool while developing sustainable habits.

Making an Informed Decision

These medications aren't "an easy way out" but rather a tool that "helps you not eat the pizza," as Lewis puts it. Dr. Decotiis adds that it "resets the amount of weight that your body wants to hold onto," suggesting a more complex mechanism than simple appetite suppression.

What to Expect: Side Effects and Monitoring

While Lewis had minimal side effects, it's important to note that common side effects can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Regular medical supervision and starting with a lower dose are standard practices.

The Future of Weight Management

While many solutions, like intermittent fasting or specialized diets, can be beneficial, they haven't solved the global obesity crisis. As Lewis points out, "If there's a means of those people facilitating their ability to control what they eat, they should be applauded, not derided." Jamie Maitland, Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Elite Fitness Instructor, and Multidimensional Health Coach, has made a career out of helping people achieve their diet and fitness goals. Based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the 38-year-old is living, breathing proof that maintaining a healthy lifestyle will help keep you in the best possible shape. In a recent interview with Body Network, she shared some of her personal health habits, including everything she eats in a day.

Health is a 24-Hour Job, She Says

Jamie, founder of The Office Health and The Office 954 and author of The 21 Day Reset Cookbook, started her fitness career in 2015 by co-founding Fort Lauderdale’s first and largest indoor cycling studio. “That quickly snowballed into a love for teaching and motivating people through fitness, and in 2019, I opened a new unique fitness concept called The Office 954,” she tells us.

“For an hour, people were with me at the studio, and that was the easy part,” she admits. “It was the other 23 hours in the day that I was interested in, which led to furthering education in not just fitness but nutrition and all-around health and wellness. Motivating and inspiring people is what I do best, and it only made sense to combine my two worlds of fitness and nutrition. To this day, I still own and teach at my studio and have also created a health & wellness company that offers the highest quality organic food products, premium supplements, and luxury retreat experiences.”

Here Is What She Eats in a Day

When it comes to her diet, Jamie is “all about balance, which is something you create,” she says. “Typically, my day starts with water followed by a pea size scoop of Shilajit (A substance that emerges from the crevices of high mountain ranges in Asia, rich in vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and amino acids) taken on an empty stomach with a cup of coffee.

I’m not much of a breakfast person so lunch is usually my biggest meal which might consist of grass fed grass finished filet or organic corn and soy free chicken with some sort of kitchen sink salad (chopped roasted asparagus, chopped Romaine, scallions, 3 chopped egg white, 1/4 avocado, red onion, endive and peeled & deseed cubed cucumber— all organic ingredients—homemade dressing),” she says.

“If I need something sweet, my chocolate espresso protein muffins have changed my world (lol) and hit the spot! I usually have about 2 of those. Later, after my workout, I will have a 2-scoop protein shake.”

Dinner is her “lightest meal,” consisting of sliced chicken breast or seafood with a roasted vegetable, “sometimes only protein,” she explains. “I am a weird eater and live by this saying ‘your food doesn’t need to make sense to anyone but you!’ Another rule of thumb: I don’t eat past 8 pm.”

She Is a “Qualitarian”

Jamie stresses the importance of hydration. She drinks “at least a gallon” of water per day. “Water is life!” she explains.

“I eat what makes me feel my best. I don’t label myself anything, but if I had to, I would label myself a Qualitarian,” Jamie says. “Quality absolutely matters. You are what you ate, ate— and everything comes from somewhere, know the source. My eating style is designed around the health of my gut. I do my best to stay in tune with what works best for me, and I preach this to my clients. What makes sense to me might not make sense to you. Personally, I prioritize quality protein, healthy fats, and the time that I eat.” In total, she consumes “at least 120-130 grams of protein per day.”

  1. Know your body better than anyone. It’s yours to learn!
  2. You don’t need as much food as you think you do. Culture, unfortunately, promotes indulgence; stay conscious, use your brain— and design your life how you see it, not the other way around.
  3. What you stop eating might have a bigger impact than what you start eating.

Here Are Her Essentials

Jamie takes supplements, “but only essentials,” she says. “Everyone is very different, and if you really want to know what you're deficient in, get your blood work done.” The supplements she thinks are essential “that mostly everyone should take” are:

1) Liposomal Vitamin C

2) Vitamin D3 +K2

3) Magnesium L Threonate (magtein)

4) Wild Caught Krill Oil

5) Liver organ complex

6) Grass-fed/grass-finished protein powder

These Are Her Favorite Workouts

Jamie maintains variety with exercise. “Switching up my workouts is what works best for me; I find it mentally stimulating, and on a personal level, I feel and see the best results from diversity,” she tells us. “I love horseback riding and definitely consider that a full-body workout. I don’t ride as much as I would like, but when I do, I love it! Rollerblading is also one of my favorite workouts. I love a good barre and pilates class; lifting weights is a must for me at least 3x a week, and I’ve recently gotten into sprinting, which has been a game changer.”

Top 3 Fitness Rules

Here are Jamie’s top 3 fitness rules:

  1. If you have access to a floor, you can get a workout in, we’re born to move—prioritize daily movement.
  2. Don’t underestimate the power of walking, consistently.
  3. Just like your food, your workouts don’t need to make sense to anyone but you.

Sleep and Meditation Are Also Key

Other important health habits, per Jamie, are sleep and meditation. “Good sleep is extremely important and, fortunately, has not ever been a problem for me. Meditation in my opinion is very personal,” she says. “I believe there are many different forms of it and there is no wrong way to meditate.” For example, Rollerblading is one of her forms of meditation. “Believe it or not, I come up with my best ideas when skating and also can get into an intense mental flow state. One could argue that this isn’t meditation but what you believe is your reality,” she says.

And, Don’t Forget to Set Boundaries

“Setting boundaries is an underrated health habit that I find important. When I host my 21 Day Resets this is definitely a subject that comes up quite a bit. So often people spread themselves too thin by saying ‘yes’ to everything or putting others first instead of themselves. Healthy boundaries are necessary,” she says.

Lymphatic Drainage

Another self-care ritual Jamie swears by is lymphatic drainage. “I frequently get gua sha facials and recently just started adding in full body Brazilian manual lymphatic drainage. If you’ve never done either, do yourself a favor and try adding these rituals into your self care routine! I promise you will feel amazing,” she suggests.

There's nothing quite like the moment when you've reached your weight loss goal and realize the real work is just beginning. YouTube sensationLiezl Jayne Strydom is familiar with this journey, having successfully lost 30 pounds in just 12 weeks and maintained her results long-term. "It's not about being perfect," she states repeatedly. Her philosophy centers on consistency rather than perfection, focusing on nutrient-dense, protein-rich meals that keep her satisfied throughout the day.

Getting Out of the Winter Rut

"To get out of my rut, get out of the winter rut, I like to do just a few simple things," Liezl explains in her recent post. "I like to change up my routine so things feel fresh, change up my meals and my workouts a bit so that I can just feel like I'm working towards some new goals." This refreshed mindset helped her stay motivated during her weight loss journey and continues to serve her well during maintenance.

Protein-Packed Breakfast Smoothie

"I've been making this breakfast every single day this week. This week, it's my favorite. It's just really simple," says Liezl. Her recipe combines one cup of frozen mango, half a cup of frozen raspberries, and half a cup of frozen strawberries. She adds about three-quarters to one cup of coconut yogurt, one small scoop of vanilla protein powder, and water to blend. "It's like a giant strawberry milkshake for breakfast," she explains.

Morning Movement Matters

"I just finished a workout. So I'm a little bit sweaty, a little bit hot, ready for my breakfast," Liezl shares. For her, exercise isn't about punishment but rather a consistent part of her routine that complements her nutrition. This balanced approach helped her lose weight in a sustainable way and now helps her maintain her results.

Nutrient-Dense Lunch Bowl

"It's a perfect lunch for me—quick, very healthy, and full of protein," Liezl explains about her midday meal. She starts with arugula, adds roasted sweet potatoes, and two seven-minute boiled eggs. "I always like to add something really filling to my salads like sweet potato or rice or quinoa," she notes. A drizzle of olive oil and coconut aminos brings everything together, with sunflower and pumpkin seeds for crunch.

Prioritizing Meal Prep

"I've got these roasted sweet potatoes. I cooked them yesterday," Liezl explains. This simple habit of having healthy options ready makes maintaining her weight loss easier. "All the work of these fruits, or the melons, is just cutting it up. But if you've got it cut up, then you can just have it ready to go in the fridge," she adds when discussing her afternoon snack.

Refreshing Afternoon Treat

"I prepped some chia pudding the other day. And I also prepped this little fruit salad," Liezl shares. Her afternoon pick-me-up features chia pudding topped with watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, and pecans. "That makes a very good after lunch snack," she notes, showing how simple combinations can satisfy sweet cravings naturally.

Dairy-Free Alternatives

"I love coconut yogurt, but any kind of plain yogurt will actually work," Liezl explains. For her afternoon coffee, she shares, "What I've really been liking in my coffee lately is I use just coconut milk in a can, light coconut milk. It's like so creamy, a little bit sweet, just naturally sweet. It's dairy-free, obviously."

Quick 10-Minute Dinner

"This is something that I make when I don't have a lot of time or when I just want something super quick," says Liezl. "This is a five to 10 minute dinner. So fast." She steams green beans while cooking ramen noodles, then adds pre-cooked chicken. "After I drain the noodles, I actually just put them right back in the pot with the stove turned down to low. And I just throw all the chicken pieces in there," she explains, adding oil and coconut aminos before covering to heat everything through.

Mindful Evening Indulgence

Dark chocolate. Broken chocolate bar on kitchen tableShutterstock

"I'm not trying to lose weight at the moment, so I don't count my calories. I only do that when I'm trying to lose weight," Liezl explains. Her evening ritual includes ginger tea paired with a small piece of dark chocolate. "And it's chocolate time. A little bit of chocolate," she says simply. "I'm going to go enjoy my chocolate and my tea and just relax a little bit this evening."

The Protein Priority

Fresh chicken eggs7. EggsShutterstock

"I am trying to eat quite a lot of protein at the moment. I try to get roughly a hundred grams of protein a day," Liezl notes. "I'm not like counting it. I just kind of have learned what kind of things have protein in them. So just having the eggs for lunch, having some protein powder in my smoothie for breakfast, having the chicken in my dinner. All those proteins accumulate."

Understanding Your Calorie Needs

"I'm not trying to lose weight at the moment, so I don't count my calories. I only do that when I'm trying to lose weight," Liezl explains. "But I thought some of you guys might want to know how many calories that I'm eating. So it says that I ate 2,227 calories today and 95 grams of protein. That's pretty good."

Flexible Framework, Not Rigid Rules

"It's not about being perfect. It is not about being perfect," Liezl emphasizes twice. "I have found that when I am putting in a little bit of effort, taking care of myself, I just feel so much better," she says. "When I don't [take care of myself], it really affects my confidence. And then I'm like thinking, oh, I need to change all these things about myself."

Summer-Ready Confidence

"Getting summer ready really just means feeling healthy, strong, confident in my skin," says Liezl. "You know, comfortable showing a little bit more skin after winter. In winter I get like, feel like a bit scruffy after winter, like I've just been bundled up so much." Her approach focuses on making small changes that yield big results in both physical appearance and mental well-being.

Finding Inspiration, Not Perfection

"I hope that you enjoyed this video. I hope that it just gives you a bit of motivation, a bit of inspiration, maybe a recipe or two to try," Liezl says. By sharing her realistic day of eating, she demonstrates that sustainable weight management doesn't require extreme restriction. As she puts it, it's about "just getting out of the rut a bit, just changing up a few things, doing some exercise, eating some healthy meals." Another item to add to your menu if you are trying to lose weight? Protein powder. “A quick and easy way to boost protein without extra fat or carbs. Mix it with water, almond milk, or even coffee!” she says.

She also eats canned tuna, in water, often. “Lean, high-protein, and low-calorie. Great in salads, wraps, or straight from the can with mustard. There’s one at Trader Joe’s that I’ve been obsessed with!” she says.

Are you trying to lose weight, but aren’t sure what to eat? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as it fuels your body for fat loss and muscle growth. Body Network spoke with Elaine Morrison, a pilates instructor and nutritional therapy practitioner who helps women look their best from the inside out, and asked her: What do you eat for breakfast when you want to lose weight? Her answer may surprise you.

Make Sure Your Breakfast Is Balanced

“Eating a satiating breakfast that includes enough protein, healthy fat, and fiber will help you maintain steady energy (balanced blood sugar) and make better food choices throughout the day,” says Morrison. “It will help you to feel full and cut down on unnecessary snacking. You'll also have better energy and less brain fog. Balancing blood sugar is key to supporting fat loss.”

Aim for 30 Grams of Protein

Unrecognizable man preparing fried eggs for breakfast. Close up.Shutterstock

Morrison recommends starting by choosing protein and aiming for 30 grams of protein.

Some examples:

  • 2 eggs (1 egg = 6 grams of protein) + 2 chicken sausage
  • 2 eggs + 1/2 cup of cottage cheese (scramble the cottage cheese into the eggs for a creamy texture)
  • 1 serving of protein powder + 2/3 cup of greek yogurt.

Here’s What to Do When Traveling

NEW YORK CITY - MAY 2015: Starbucks store. Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse company in the world.StarbucksShutterstock

“When traveling, most airports have Starbucks,” Morrison says. “I tell clients to purchase two servings of the egg white bites (a total of 4), which will give them 24 grams of protein. Purchase an apple if they have it, or bring one with you, and you will have a well-balanced meal.”

Then, Choose a Healthy Fat

Next, make sure you have a healthy fat. “Eggs contain 5 grams of fat/egg, so you'll get enough from eating eggs,” she says. “Choose cottage cheese or Greek yogurt that are low to full fat and that will give you your healthy fat. If you're using protein powder and Greek yogurt to make a smoothie, depending on how much fat is in the yogurt, you can also add a tablespoon of nut butter.”

Amp Up Your Fiber Intake

Next, choose non-starchy vegetables or fruit to add fiber to your meal. “Fiber helps keep you feeling full and supports healthy blood sugar levels,” she says.

Non-starchy vegetables: Saute, roast, or steam broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, spinach, carrots, asparagus.

Fruit with fiber: blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, apples, pears. And if you enjoyed this article, don't missthese 8 High-Protein Foods with Nearly Zero Calories That Melt Fat
