Jennifer Hudson Lost 80 Pounds Without Ozempic and Here Are 5 Daily Habits She Still Swears By

It's 2026, and many of the weight-loss stories making headlines seem to involve GLP-1 medication. That's why we wanted to revisit successful journeys that happened without the use of the latest fad—and actress and singer Jennifer Hudson is a prime example. Hudson lost around 80 pounds by following Weight Watchers (WW), along with adopting other healthy lifestyle habits.
Let's take a look at how Hudson lost 80 pounds—and kept it off. The American Idol alum remained—and remains—consistent and makes conscious lifestyle choices.
She Dropped 10 Sizes

According to Oprah.com, Hudson dropped an impressive 10 sizes, going from a size 16 to a six. The celeb shared with the publication that she wasn't used to reaching for smaller clothing sizes while shopping.
She Wanted Her Body Back

Giving birth was a major motivator behind Hudson's weight loss.
"I'm sure you women can relate. Most of all, I wanted my body back. So, I made up my mind while I was pregnant that as soon as I have my baby, I'm going in and I am determined," Hudson said (via Oprah.com).
She Followed Weight Watchers

Hudson was actually a spokesperson for Weight Watchers. And guess what? The program worked for her. By sticking to Weight Watchers' point system, the celeb was able to eat everything she liked, in moderation.
"It's like a brand new me," Hudson told Oprah.com. "Sometimes I don't even recognize myself."
She Moved Her Body Daily

Hudson didn't perform vigorous workouts. She did, however, incorporate as much movement into each day as possible. This included taking the stairs instead of elevators and walking. She also danced.
She Loves To Run

The American Idol alum also enjoys running.
"I love running, but mostly I approach life that moving is better than doing nothing. I take stairs instead of the elevator. I'll get up and dance. I just try to move as much as possible. I also consider shopping part of my activities because you're not thinking about eating—you're moving around. I'm all about having fun when I'm moving around," Hudson told LA Times.
She Motivated Herself

Motivation is a key player in many weight-loss success stories, and Hudson's was no exception.
"It's all about self-motivation because at the end of the day, you can have all the trainers and all the money in the world, but if you don't have that mindset, it's not possible," Hudson told Oprah.com.
She's a Mindful Eater

Hudson is mindful of what she eats, making sure to consume nutrient-rich meals and timing them accordingly.
"I'm very careful and cautious of what I'm eating, so I just try to pace those meals throughout the day. Like, okay, eat here, don't eat here. When it's early in the morning, I say, okay, I would've been asleep … so I'm not going to eat. I'm very conscious of what I put in my body," the celeb revealed during an interview on British talk show Lorraine (via Good Housekeeping.)
