We asked the advice of Nicole Suppes, registered dietician and founder of Good Soul Nutrition, LLC, who recommends four protein-packed snacks that keep her lean all year round. Why protein-packed snacks? They'll help you feel fuller for longer and keep you in top shape. The best part? You can pick them up at your local Aldi, Costco, and Walmart.
"Protein-packed snacks support leanness year-round," Suppes tells us. "Protein increases satiety hormones, reduces cravings, and helps preserve lean muscle mass, which is essential for metabolic health."
How Protein-Filled Snacks Curb Your Appetite

Choosing snacks high in protein is essential for controlling your appetite. And when dieting or watching your figure, it's not only advisable to be mindful of what you eat—but when you eat it as well.
"Protein slows digestion and stabilizes blood sugar, reducing the likelihood of overeating later in the day," says Suppes.
There are a few important things Suppes says she looks for in her snacks, including a minimum of 10 to 20 grams of protein per serving, very little added sugar, an equal amount of healthy fats and fiber, convenient to bring on-the-go, and a good price.
"I recommend pairing protein snacks mid-morning or mid-afternoon to prevent energy crashes and curb late-day cravings," Suppes shares. "Buying in bulk, choosing minimally processed options, and prioritizing protein density allows clients—and myself—to stay consistent without overspending."

Kirkland Signature Greek Yogurt

This nonfat Greek yogurt is a great snack in both the low-sugar or plain varieties. They provide a high protein content, promote gut health, and pack easily. In just one serving—⅔ cup—you'll get an impressive 18 grams of protein. Consider topping off your Greek yogurt with chia seeds and fresh berries for a well-rounded bite.

Elevation Protein Bars

For a "balanced on-the-go fuel," Suppes recommends stocking up on these protein bars. In just one bar—in the Double Chocolate flavor—you'll get 12 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber.
The price is great, and you can pick up a supply at Aldi.
Starkist or Bumble Bee Tuna Creations

Tuna has a good shelf life and packs some solid protein. It's an excellent choice for a quick snack or light meal. In one pouch of Starkist tuna, for instance, you'll get 17 grams of protein.
These tuna snacks can be shopped at Walmart.
Hard-Boiled Eggs or Egg Bites

This tasty protein-packed bite supports fullness and muscle maintenance. Both Costco and Aldi carry these products.
