@_getfitwithmer

3 years ago today I changed my life #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #weightlossjouney #myjourney #tiktok #weightlossprogress #gymtok #motivation

2. She Lost 120 Pounds in Two Years

@_getfitwithmer

I wish I tried harder and gave myself more of a chance all those years before I did. I wish I had the support, the motivation and the willpower to keep going back then. “I wish” was something I said every time I thought about losing the weight. Self doubt is something I talk about SO often with my clients because it’s THE thing that blocks you from starting AND committing to your journey. You have to block out the noise of thinking you can’t do this because your thoughts & your mindset will ultimately determine if you make it to the end. This weekend I challenge you to set yourself up for success - take a step into the right direction. Do what you need to do to make it happen. Don’t second guess yourself - just do it. You got this babes 🤍 #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #foryourpage #weightlossmotivation #weightlosscommunity #weightlosscoach

Prior to her wedding in November 2020 she lost a whopping 50 pounds – in just 15 months. After her wedding she lost another 70 pounds. She maintains she did this with a few simple changes: She started tracking her macros and calories and also weight and strength training.

3. She Wants People to Know That She Understands the Struggle

Meredith_Hutson2GET FIT WITH MER/Facebook

“Before you give up or just accept the fact you will struggle with your weight forever..I need you to first know I felt that exact same way. I never thought I’d have the discipline, the knowledge or the confidence to stay true to my goals. I never could stay with it in the past and nothing ever seemed to work so why did I think this time would be different?” she writes in one of her viral posts.

4. Change “Isn’t Fun” But “You Can Accomplish Anything,” She Says

@_getfitwithmer

Starting can be scary and if there’s anyone that gets that it’s me.. Starting was so scary to me because of all the failed attempts I’ve made in the past and the feeling of that kept me from trying again for years. I reached my ultimate heaviest when I gave up on trying and all the years that pasted by made not only my physical health suffer but my mental health as well. Living in a life you aren’t really living in isn’t worth fighting for! You are worthy of doing all the things you want in life and if starting is one of them then don’t hold yourself back. If guidance is what you need then I’m right here my love, it’s what I’m passionate about and what I live and breathe. Regardless of the steps you make today I want you to make each one count. Today will always be the best day for you to start. That’s from someone who did all of this because of not hesitating and just DOING! 🤍 #weightloss #weightlossmotivation #weightlossjouney #weightlossadvice #weightlosscoach #weightlosscommunity #fitnessmotivation

“I spent years of my life in that mindset and instead of making a change I continued to stay in the same place, doing the same things that only made things harder on me. 🥺 Change isn’t fun and just like anything in life it’s an adjustment but I can promise you this you CAN accomplish anything you set your heart & mind on,” she says.

5. People Always Ask About Her Diet

Meredith_Hutson7GET FIT WITH MER/Facebook

One of the things she had to change is her diet. “Meredith, what did you eat to lose 120 pounds? What was it that you were eating?” her followers always ask.

6. She Eats Ground Beef, Black Beans, and Cheese Daily

@_getfitwithmer

we keep it simp #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #weightlossmotivation #weightlossrecipes

“Listen, would you eat what I would eat?” she responded. “Because right now I'm eating ground beef.” She revealed that she consumes a high protein meal every single day, consisting of eight ounces of ground beef, one-half can of black beans, and some shredded cheese.

7. She Says Consistency Is Key

Meredith_Hutson5GET FIT WITH MER/Facebook

She wasn’t quite as confident that her followers would be fans. “Would you eat that?” she asked. “Like I'm actually really curious. “Not only am I eating this, but I've eaten this every single day for like a good solid two weeks. I like it, but it isn't extravagant by any means.”

8. How Protein and Meal Planning Help You Lose Weight

@_getfitwithmer

How did creating new habits help me lose 120lbs, along with changing my life in the process? ✨ Something I need you to know first is every single one of these were changes I personally made that got me here. It’s honestly mind blowing how much changing your lifestyle can do for you in your life. Never in a million years did I think cooking from home, waking up early, watching less tv, moving my body more, reading instead of scrolling and speaking kindly about myself could do for my life. I get emotional thinking about how I used to live my life compared to how I do now. Looking back I wasn’t “living” at all and it’s the reason why I found myself feeling unfulfilled & just lost in this world. You have the power to become anything you want. Look at what you do from the moment you wake up - how are you starting the day and how are you ending the day? What changes could you make now that will help you grow and become who you are meant to be in 2024? Apply yourself - give it everything you have and know I’m here to remind you that these changes aren’t impossible. Your life is whatever you make it to be. 🤍 #weightloss #2024goals #newyeargoals #weightlosstransformation #weightlossmotivation #weightlossinspiration #2024weightlossgoals #2024fitnessgoals

According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets. Meal planning is also a great research-backed weight loss hack. One, one study published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity found meal planning was associated with a healthier diet and less obesity.

9. These Other Healthy Habits Also Helped Her Lose Weight

Meredith_Hutson6_getfitwithmer/TikTok

Other healthy habits she has incorporated? She went from “eating fast food” to cooking at home, from “sleeping in late” to waking up early, and from watching tv to moving her body, she revealed in another video. She also reads more, goes on adventures on the weekends instead of drinking, and practices positive affirmation.

10. An RDN Weighs In

tara_collingwooddietdivatara/Instagram

We asked The Diet Diva, Tara Collingwood, MS, RDN, CSSD, LD/N, ACSM-CPT, a Board Certified Sports Dietitian, to weigh in on her tactics. “I love that she didn’t let the ‘I couldn’t stick with it in the past and nothing works’ mantra get her down and she tried again and was successful this time,” she says. “It sounds like she really took control of her not so healthy habits and decided to make a huge change in many areas of her life.” She also agrees that finding healthy meals you like and sticking to them as long as you want is a great idea, and is totally supportive of black beans, cheese, and ground beef. “Black beans are one of the healthiest foods around: Fiber, protein, high antioxidants, high in B Vitamins,” she says. “Cheese of course has calcium and protein. Ground beef is really nutrient dense and hopefully she was choosing the lean beef and draining any extra fat.”

💪🔥Body Booster: Finding protein-rich meals you love will help you lose weight while feeling satisfied, according to research.

Gen Cohen Lost 10 Pounds in 2 Months by Maintaining a Caloric Deficit

In a recent Instagram post, Gen Cohen, CNC, shared how she lost 10lbs in the first two months of her health journey. “What I would do is eat in a modest caloric deficit, which if you're a woman watching this video means you'll probably be eating an average of 1500 to 2000 calories per day in order to lose weight,” she says.

Another helpful habit in her weight loss was investing in a big water bottle. “I would drink 16 ounces of water before getting out of bed in the morning, which helps regulate your cortisol and stress levels throughout the day,” she says. “And I would also drink 16 ounces of water before each meal. Cam points out that the little snacks you eat in the day add up. Just three squares of dark chocolate, half a bag of popcorn in one glass of wine total 660 calories. “I was severely underestimating how many calories were in those snacks because I was having those four times a week,” he says, pointing out “that's an extra 2,400 calories per week. That's more than I'm going to eat today. So no wonder I was putting on weight even though I was exercising.”

Melissa Lattari (@melissa.lattari) dropped 15 pounds in a month, explaining in a viral video how she did it. “Losing 10 to 15 pounds of water weight is easier than you think it is,” she says in the clip. Melissa maintains that dropping the weight is simple. “The easiest way to lose water weight, okay, listen up, is by switching up your diet,” she maintains. “Water retention happens when we're consuming too much sodium in our diet,” she continues. “Therefore, if you're eating a lot of overly processed foods such as pizza, frozen foods, prepackaged foods or going out and eating at a restaurant where they usually cook most foods with vegetable oils, your body is going to obtain more water.”

Not only should you “get your steps in,” but “increase your steps every single day,” she suggests. “Try to get a little bit better.” How many steps should you strive for?

A 2018 study published in the journal Obesity found a link between walking 10,000 steps a day and weight loss and weight management. Other studies published by the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) in JAMA Neurology and in JAMA Internal Medicine also linked walking 10,000 steps a day to less dementia and less cardiovascular disease overall, with less heart disease, less heart failure and fewer strokes.

There is scientific evidence supporting the benefits of meal planning.

Nour T (@nourrtann/) lost a whopping 40 pounds in just five months with one simple habit. In one of her viral videos, she reveals that no matter what diet you want to go on, simply eating less will result in weight loss. “One thing I will say: Keto, paleo, Atkins, high protein, low fat, low carb, whatever it is, they all work. They all work because you're probably eating less,” she continues. “And also, please remember that eating healthy and eating to lose weight are completely different things.”

She Also Started Volume Eating

“In my opinion, the most sustainable way to lose weight without tracking calories or stressing out is volume eating. Volume eating is in no means a diet plan. It is actually just a technique,” Nour continues. “You're basically mainly eating large amounts of low-calorie foods, so some examples of that would be like instead of having a cup of rice, you would have a half cup of rice and then a half cup of cauliflower rice,” she says. Another example? “Instead of having a whole serving of pasta, you would split it in half and then have zoodles,” she adds, explaining that you would mix in your cauliflower rice with your rice or zucchini noodles with your noodles. “You're eating the same exact amount as you would've, but the calories you're cut in half, and you're allowing yourself to eat much more vegetables, which are good for you,” she says.

Her key to losing weight with walking is doing interval training on an incline. “So my treadmill has this option here, it's called Fat Burner, and I love this one. It alternates between the incline of 1.5 to 4.5, and then I usually keep my speed between 3 and 4,” she explains, adding that if you don’t have that option, you can manually change the incline and speed accordingly.

Amber Clemens (@amber_c_fitness) is a weight loss warrior and influencer on TikTok who lost a whopping 160 pounds while still eating fast food. In a viral video, she describes her before meal at Wendy’s: A Four for Four meal with a Junior cheeseburger, four piece chicken nugget, a small fry, “and I would actually order an additional six piece nugget because I wanted 10 and I would get a large root beer and that one meal would be 1,450 calories,” she says, noting “that's not including any dipping sauces that I would get to dip this stuff in, but I couldn't find the nutrition information for that.”

Now, she chooses from two lower calorie alternatives, the apple pecan salad “because it's so filling,” she says. “You get a high volume of food for about 550 calories.” Her other option is a six piece nugget and a small fry paired with a medium light lemonade. “And you can get that meal for 545 calories,” she says. “It's not about cutting things out, it's about finding things that you like equally as much, making swaps in moderation,” she points out. If you have a lot of weight to lose, it can seem hopeless and impossible. However, Samantha Costa, a 23-year-old influencer, lost a whopping 60 pounds in 3 months. In a viral YouTube video, she explains exactly how she did it, and a lot of it had to do with shifting her perspective and overall approach to weight loss.

Losing 60 Pounds in 6 Months with PCOS

Samantha_CostaSamantha Costa/YouTube

She starts with her backstory: In 2018 she was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which resulted in weight gain. “I fluctuate weight a lot and it also affects my periods. With that being said, because I was diagnosed with PCOS, I put on a lot of weight very fast, and it wasn't a type of weight that was healthy,” she said. Costa, who is five-foot-one, topped the scale at around 200 pounds. “Being in a place where I knew I wasn't healthy was really scaring me.” At the time she was able to drop 50 to 60 pounds in “five to six months” by going to Orangetherory and eating right. “I think I weighed around 196 pounds and I got down to around 135,” she specified.

The Power of Whole Grains

Wholemeal,Fusilli,Pasta,Whole, GrainsShutterstock

Her main dietary change at the time involved swapping out white carbs with whole grain and whole wheat. “I literally had grilled chicken, pasta, grated cheese, and tomato sauce every single day because that's what made me happy,” she said. After graduating from college in May 2022, “and I honestly was a very steady weight of around probably 129 pounds to 140 throughout all of my senior year of college,” she felt like she was at a healthy weight for herself around 135 pounds. She spent the summer lifeguarding. “I was having a really fun time, and honestly everything was going very well,” she continued.

A Stressful Job Ruined Her Health and Happiness

Samantha_Costa2Samantha Costa/YouTube

However, in August she started her “big job at a big four company” and it was “the downfall of everything,” she claims. “I'm not going to talk too much about it, but the stress of that job, which I am no longer working in, was very, very hard for me.” She stopped working out and spent most of her free time isolating. Over a period of about 7 months she probably gained 60 to 70 pounds, and was “very, very sad,” she says. “I wasn't happy with how I looked and I was having a hard time with it, but it was more that I knew I wasn't healthy and I knew I needed to get healthy because of this. I would always tell myself, ‘You know what? You did it once. You can definitely do it again.’”

From 10,000 Steps to 500

She couldn’t motivate herself to go to fitness studio again, “something that I used to love going to do,” she says. While she used to walk 10,000 steps a day, she “was lucky if I hit probably 500 steps a day because I was always at my computer, always doing something for work, and there was really just no time for me to do it.”

She Lost 10 Pounds in a Week and Kept Going

Woman,,Balance,Weight,Scale,health,scalesShutterstock

Every day she looked in the mirror and told herself “in three months from now, you will look so much better. You'll feel so much better, which is the most important, and you will want to do things because you started.” Eventually she started seeing progress, claiming that she lost 10 pounds in one week, which she knew was water weight. Within a few weeks she noticed a “little bit of a difference” and once she started to see that difference, “it was a lot easier to believe in myself and notice that there was real progress happening and that there was change happening, which allowed me to keep going within my journey.”

The Secrets to Her Success

Healthy,Eating,Food,Low,Carb,Keto,Ketogenic,Diet,Meal,Plan,salmon,avocado,egg, broccoliShutterstock

She revealed that she did keto, which is “very hard to sustain,” she admits. “It was very hard for me to eat a certain amount of carbs every single day, and it was very hard for me to cut out sugar. I'm someone who loves sugar, but I knew that in order to be in a healthy place again, and in order to get to my goal in the most efficient way, especially with summer coming up, I needed to do something that would really change and really allow my body to adapt.” She also emphasizes the importance of protein. “Eating carbs is something that obviously we all need. I am not saying don't eat carbs. Please eat your macros. Please eat carbs. Please allow yourself to have the energy that you need. I'm just saying what I did was I lowered the amount of carbs that I ate, but I was still eating enough to feel energized to be able to go to the gym and to give my body what it needs.”

She Increased Intake of Proteins and Exercised

Amping up your protein intake may help you lose weight. According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets. She also went back to fitness studio four to five times a week, starting with gentle workouts and working her way up to more intense ones. She also recommends taking rest days.

Stay Motivated and Positive on Your Journey

Samantha_Costa5sam.costaa/Instagram

“In the beginning, you're probably going to feel like you can't do it and it's probably going to feel impossible, and if you are someone who doesn't feel like that, I give you so much credit because I've been there so many times and I felt like it was impossible every single time,” she adds. “The number one thing I want to tell you is to prove yourself wrong. Prove every single person that may have doubted you wrong. The only thing that matters is that you believe in yourself. The only thing that matters is that you have the mindset that will allow you to feel better, and every single time you question yourself, make one of those videos, take progress pictures, tell yourself that you are so much better than you were even one day ago, and if you are really having trouble starting, just try for one day.”

Do you want to lose weight without having to do high-intensity workouts or starving yourself? According to one influencer, losing weight and getting into the best shape of your life doesn’t have to be hard. Rachel Otieno (@Raychflix) is an influencer whose mission is to “empower” others to live their best life. In one of her viral videos, she reveals how she lost 23 pounds in 2 months. “I'm just sharing exactly what worked for me during my journey,” she says.

She “Never Thought” Losing Over 20 Pounds “Was Possible”

“I have lost over 20 pounds, and to be honest, I never thought that was possible when I started this. All I wanted to do was to just lose about five kgs that I normally struggle with here and there,” Rachel says.

She Was Losing Weight When Single and Gaining When In a Relationship

“I'm just gonna admit I've had a very toxic relationship with my weight whereby when I would be single, I would lose some weight, and then I get in a relationship, I get comfortable, I gain the weight, and then get single again, then lose it, then get in a relationship. I don't know, whatever it is, there's something about being in a relationship that just makes a girl gain weight, and I'm a girl, so for me, it just creeps on slowly and slowly,” she says.

She Goes to the Gym and Eats Vegetarian

Woman exercising with a kettlebell weight, low-section cropShutterstock

Her lifestyle was always pretty healthy. “I go to the gym, and I eat a predominantly vegetarian meal because I don't like meat and stuff like that. So my lifestyle is kind of healthy,” she says. “But then maybe slowly but surely,” she would gain weight as soon as she had a boyfriend.

The Weight Gain Led to Health Issues

It soon led to health issues. “My back was hurting, my clothing sizes were increasing, and my hormonal issues started to give me issues,” she says. “Now, I must preface this the whole time. Honestly, I was so happy. I didn't really feel sad or anything.”

She Tried Exercising and Eating Healthier for Two Weeks and Got “Obsessed”

“After a while, I was just like, you know what? I'm going to try to take myself to the gym just to have a healthier way of living,” she says. She worked out for two weeks. “I was running, and I was trying to eat healthy. All of a sudden, I got an obsession with broccoli. I got an obsession with eggplants and so on.”

She Decided to Go “All In”

After two weeks, she started to feel better. “I feel lighter. These clothes are fitting a little bit better,” she says. This was when she realized she would actually “love to go all in and consciously lose weight and make sure that I'm doing it in the healthiest and the most self-loving way possible.”

She Found a Sustainable Way to Lose Weight

She explains that in the past, she tried diets, including keto and intermittent fasting. “I have done it all. I have even tried fasting itself. There's nothing I haven't tried under the sun in the name of losing weight, but none of this was ever sustainable for me,” she says.

She Consulted a Doctor and Had an Analysis Done

She also changed her motivations from simply looking good to focusing on loving herself. “I just wanted to make a healthier option. And also, my back was hurting,” she says. “My back needed a break.” She decided to “lose weight in the most self-loving way that doesn't make me give up.” So, she consulted with a doctor and did an analysis. “I was told the things that I needed, the things that were lacking in my body, the deficiencies that I had, the allergies and the sensitivities that I had.” This gave her a “blueprint” to give her body what it needed when she had “certain habits or certain cravings.”

Food Control Was Key

Nutrition facts. Close-up.Shutterstock

She explains that “food control” was key. “Now, when it comes to food control, I am not dieting. I am not on any diet whatsoever. However, I am on a calorie deficit.” Cutting portion sizes was really important. “Now I eat everything, but I just don't eat as much,” she says.

It’s Hard at First, But Your Body Adjusts

“The first week is the hardest, and then after a while, your body kind of adjusts to it somehow,” she explains. “It's so funny how so much of our struggles are very mental and also habitual. So when you get used to not eating as much, your body kind of adjusts to not eating as much. And before you realize boom, you are not eating as much.”

You Also Need to Stop Drinking Your Calories

People clinking glasses with wine on the summer terrace of cafe or restaurantShutterstock

You also need to stop drinking your calories, whether that is champagne or hot chocolate. “The doctor told me, ‘Girl, do not drink your calories. Please eat whatever it is.’” Instead of juicing, she started eating the fruits and veggies. “That's what I was told. Do not drink your food. Eat your food.”

She Also Stopped Eating Late

She adds that portion sizes and eating the right nutrients were her two biggest problems all along. “Still on the food side, of course, I changed my eating times as well. I'm not intermittent fasting or anything, but this whole eating after 8:00, seriously visiting the fridge at 10:00, like it was such a bad habit.”

Exercise Doesn’t Have to Be Intense

You don’t have to do high-intensity workouts to lose weight. “I realize that now my exercise is not as intense. I do not do high-intensity or high intervals. I don't do any of that stuff.” She claims that when she did, it made her eat more “and then go lie on the couch. Like my activity level was so low.”

She Does Pilates

“I do go to Pilates now. So I'm a Pilates girl, and you know Pilates, yes, they're difficult, but it's not like high intensity or anything,” she says. According to research, Pilates exercises are designed to increase muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility, as well as to improve posture and balance. Experts maintain that it is a great workout for leaning out.

She Also Walks on Include

She also walks on an incline. “By the time I'm done with those walks, I'm sweating so much,” she says. “And the funny thing is, now that I'm walking, I burn more calories walking than I did running because when I would run, I would just run on a flat surface. But now, when I walk, I walk uphill. I sweat so much, and it's amazing, and I love it. The calories I burn typically are around 300 to 500. She also notes that after her walks, “I'm sweating and all, but I still have the energy to probably lift weight here and there, and that's it.”

She Rewards Herself During Workouts

“My workouts are things that I look forward to. And here's the thing: I also treat my workouts as little treats because this is the time I normally use when I'm working out to talk to my man because, you know, he's back there in Sweden.” She goes for a walk and talks to him. “You can take anything from this. Make your workouts a time for yourself, a time that you enjoy, and you can do things that you really love.”

She Rests

“The quality of your rest matters. So this means taking rest days, sleeping well, and not stressing as much. I know it's so easy right now. I genuinely have very little stress in my life, to be honest. I realize that stress has a significant impact on our body weight and so on. But the less you stress, the more you rest, the easier it is for your body to do what it's supposed to do,” she says.

She Went From 165 to 141

“When I started, I was 165 pounds, and now I'm at 141,” she says about her 24-pound weight loss. “Now I'm just trying to maintain and look good.”

She Feels Better Than Ever

“I feel good. I feel very strong. I am more energetic than ever. I am very happy, not because I'm like a thin person or anything, but because my mood is boosted,” she says about her new way of living. “But on the other hand, that has a lot to do with my diet, and my physical activity has greatly improved my mental health and how I feel on the inside. And for that, I am very, very grateful. I must say that this, for me, was definitely a healthy journey, more than a weight loss journey.” And if you enjoyed this article, take advantage of these 15 Quick Ways to Lose Body Fat Percentage in a Week.

Do you want 2025 to be the year you achieve all your weight loss goals? If the answer is yes, one expert claims that you may need to modify your behavior. Cassie B of Cassie B Fitness is a coach and influencer who shares her health and fitness journey with thousands of social media followers. In a new post, she reveals some changes she had to make to lose weight. “Realistic things I gave up in order to lose 75 pounds in less than a year,” she writes. “Here’s what I gave up to lose over 75lbs,” she writes in the post. “I went from 225/230 to 150 in less than a year! I gave up these things and finally saw HUGE results.”

She Stopped Viewing Foods as “Good” or “Bad”

The first thing she did? “I gave up viewing food as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. No single food makes you gain weight just like no single food makes you lose weight. Instead, I ate and enjoyed ALL food while staying in a deficit,” she writes.

She Stopped Viewing Exercise as Punishment

She also changed her mental approach to exercise. “I gave up thinking of exercise as a punishment. Exercise is a way to celebrate what your body can do and make it stronger for what you want it to be able to do, not a punishment for what it’s currently capable of. I also realized exercise can occur ANYWHERE! Not just in a gym,” she says.

She Stopped Looking for Quick Fixes

She then stopped searching for the easy way out. “I gave up looking for quick fixes. I tried every single fad diet and ‘quick fix’ out there. They don’t work and they aren’t sustainable. Instead, I focused on sustainable, realistic changes,” she wrote.

She Stopped Trying to “Speed It Up”

“ I gave up trying to speed it up,” she continued. “Weight loss is slow, but the time will pass anyway, and quitting won’t speed it up!!!”

The last thing she did? “I gave up trying to be perfect. This isn’t all or nothing! Life happens! Aim for consistency, not perfection. Keep going when you have a day (or week) where you overeat. Enjoy the calories, and KEEP GOING!!” she wrote. And if you enjoyed this article, take advantage of these 15 Quick Ways to Lose Body Fat Percentage in a Week.

Do you want to maximize weight loss while on Ozempic? If so, there are a few types of food you should avoid. Karli Sine is a social media influencer who lost 55+ lbs on Semaglutide and is now “microdosing Tirzepatide,” she writes in her Instagram bio. In a new post, she explains that you can’t eat the same way you are accustomed to while on a weight loss drug, and there are a few types of food groups you should stay away from. “On a GLP-1? Here are 5 foods to avoid while on your injection,” she writes.

You Can’t Eat the Way You Did Before While on Ozempic

“You can’t just take the injection and keep eating the way you were before—what you eat matters just as much as the medication itself. GLP-1s slow down digestion, which means certain foods can make side effects like nausea, bloating, and fatigue even worse, while others can spike blood sugar, increase cravings, or stall your weight loss progress,” she says.

RELATED:20 Things You Need to Know About Ozempic and Weight Loss

Eating Certain Foods Will Backfire

“If you’re experiencing uncomfortable side effects or feeling stuck in a plateau, your food choices could be the reason. Here are 5 foods and drinks to avoid while on a GLP-1—plus better alternatives to help you feel your best and maximize your results,” she continues.

1. Fried & Greasy Foods

Why to Avoid: “Slows digestion even more, increases nausea, and can cause bloating and discomfort,” she says.

Better Option: “Air-fried or baked foods like grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, or veggie chips,” she continues.

2. Carbonated Drinks (Soda, Sparkling Water, Beer)

Why to Avoid: “Causes bloating, gas, and discomfort due to slower digestion from GLP-1s,” she points out.

Better Option: “Still water with lemon or electrolyte water to stay hydrated and avoid nausea,” she claims.

3. High-Sugar Snacks & Candy

Why to Avoid: “Spikes blood sugar, can cause cravings, and counteracts the appetite suppression effect. Will definitely stall weight loss,” she maintains.

Better Option: Dark chocolate (85%+ cacao), fresh berries, or a protein bar with low sugar.

4. White Bread & Refined Carbs (Pasta, Bagels, White Rice)

Why to Avoid: “Lacks fiber and nutrients, spikes blood sugar, and leads to energy crashes,” she explains.

Better Option: Whole grain or sprouted bread, brown rice, quinoa, or chickpea pasta.

RELATED:What Happens to Your Body When You Stop Taking Ozempic

5. Processed Meats (Hot Dogs, Bacon, Deli Meats, Sausage)
