Wayne Knight Lost 110 Pounds and These Simple Habits Helped Him Transform His Body

The celeb lost 110 pounds and reclaimed his health with a few simple habits.

If you're a diehard Seinfeld fan, you're quite familiar with Wayne Knight's iconic character Newman. Jerry's neighbor—and constant presence—never failed to make the audience laugh. He had much to say about food. In fact, he shared his dislike of broccoli in one episode, spitting out the "vile weed" in that only-Newman kind of way. But he had a liking for jambalaya, and fans loved his character.

In real life, the actor lost an impressive 110 pounds—and we learned the healthy habits he adopted to transform his body and overall well-being.

Knight battled with emotional eating and weight gain for quite some time, referring to himself as a food "addict." At one point in his life, he weighed over 300 pounds and learned he was at serious risk of diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. His doctor told him he was "heading towards death," and it "scared me, literally to life," according to Prevention.

Recognizing his weight was a health risk was a giant step. Knight called his eating habits an "addiction" and wants to leave that part of his life behind.

"I was eating for reasons that have nothing to do with hunger. I was eating to numb myself, and when I began to have to look at the fact that I was eating as an addiction and treat it as such, that's when I turned a corner," the actor told CBS.

Knight has worked with a personal trainer, a psychiatrist, and a support group. The actor even signed up for a gourmet meal delivery service to revamp his diet and keep his daily calorie count in check.

Knight wasn't interested in having weight-loss surgery.

"I believe that you can eat through a gastric bypass. I believe that, in my previous self, I might have tried," the celeb told CBS.

Knight reportedly performed The Exercise Coach workouts to maintain his fitness (via Men's Journal). According to the official website, these sessions involve 20-minute workouts, two times a week, and take place in a private atmosphere. They're backed by science, great for every fitness level, and particularly appealing for those who don't prefer a traditional gym scene.
