Walking is an extremely beneficial, low-impact way to lose weight—especially when paired with a calorie deficit. Simply lacing up your shoes and heading outdoors on a brisk walk can help you torch calories, lower body fat, and improve your physical and mental well-being. Research shows that you can boost your metabolism by walking 10,000 steps each day, and a brisk 30-minute walk can burn roughly 150 calories.
