Craig Robinson Lost 50 Pounds Without Ozempic and Says This Is "The Cheat Code"

The actor credits his 50-pound weight loss to a few essential healthy diet and fitness habits.

We all know Craig Robinson's iconic portrayal of Darryl Philbin from NBC's The Office. Darryl started out as the warehouse foreman at Dunder Mifflin with lots of ambition, working his way up to Assistant Regional Manager. In real life, Robinson set his sights on making sustainable lifestyle changes so he could lead a healthy, fit life. By doing so, he lost 50 pounds and transformed his body. Here's how he did it.

1

He Didn't Use GLP-1 Medication

The totally inspirational part of Robinson's weight-loss journey? He did it on his own, without the help of GLP-1 medication. Robinson set his sights on living a healthy life and making drastic changes—and he did it.

"It's no Ozempic," the actor told Daily Mail when speaking of his weight loss.

Robinson started his journey back in 2017. He's kept the weight off and his healthy habits are still going strong. Robinson is pure motivation and inspiration, and we found out how he achieved his new, healthy physique.

He Followed a Vegan Diet

Following a vegan diet was a big change that worked for Robinson.

"[I'm] working out and I've been trying this vegan lifestyle, too. It's amazing. There are so many great vegan restaurants and dishes. It's much easier than I thought it would be," the actor told PEOPLE in 2017.

Many individuals turn to a vegan diet for weight loss mainly because plant-based foods are natural and low in calories and fat. They're also chock-full of fiber, which helps you feel full, thereby lowering overall calorie intake. A vegan diet boosts metabolism and gut wellness. This way of eating replaces saturated fats and high-calorie processed foods with nutrient-dense options.

He Eliminated Alcohol From His Diet

Another healthy habit Robison adopted? Eliminating alcohol from his diet.

"I haven't been drinking," Robinson told PEOPLE. "Since January, I just put down the alcohol, I was going to detox. I had heard, I don't know how true it is, but I heard you can regenerate your liver in six months. I was like let me see if I can go six months and I just haven't gone back."

Alcohol equals a ton of empty calories. It also slows down the fat-burning process and can wreak havoc on your hunger hormones. Cutting out alcohol also lowers calorie consumption, boosts metabolism, and promotes healthier eating habits.

He Worked Out Regularly

Structured workouts were a top priority for Robinson. He did a combination of walking, hiking, and more. In fact, the celeb shared with Us Weekly that he has a collection of walking canes he picked up across the globe.

"Working out, intermittent fasting. It's like the cheat code," Robinson told TODAY.

5

He Was Consistent

For Robinson, "consistency is key"—especially when it comes to his fitness routine.

"My goal is to work out a little every day, even if it's just for five minutes," he told Us Weekly. "Something is better than nothing."
