Kelly Reilly Will Be Heating Up "Yellowstone" Spinoff as Beth Dutton: Here Are 9 Ways She Stays Fit at 47
Beth Dutton lives on! Despite Yellowstone currently finishing off its run in the upcoming season 5 finale, one of its most popular characters isn't going anywhere. On Wednesday, Deadline revealed that Kelly Reilly and her onscreen husband, Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, have closed deals on an upcoming spinoff season. Reilly, 47, steams up the screen of the hit Paramount series, looking a fraction of her age. And, while her onscreen character's version of wellness involves smoking cigarettes and downing whiskey, her real-life approach is a lot more holistic and healthy. Here are nine ways Kelly Reilly stays fit at 47.
Coffee
Kelly is a coffee drinker. She told The Telegraph that she starts her day at 6.30 am with a jolt of caffeine. "I get up early even when I'm not working, but I need to wake up properly before I can eat anything. I make a coffee," she said. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. "It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function," they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Healthy Diet
After her coffee, Kelly proceeds to "whizz up some fruit juice," she told the publication. "I'm a big juicer and make large batches to keep in the fridge," she continues. "Add turmeric and ginger today for the immune system." For breakfast, she might fuel up on carbs. "I live in New York State, and the bagels here are incredible. I have one buttered, fresh from the oven," she says. Lunch? A "big chuck-everything-in chopped salad," she says. "We have a huge vegetable garden, and I love working on it when I have time off," she says. For dinner, she will roast a butternut squash from her garden with salt and pepper. "It doesn't need anything else," she says, and she will have it with roast chicken and veggies.
Walking
Kelly gets her steps in with the help of her dog. "A long dog walk along the beach" is one way she exercises. Walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day leads to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace, according to one study by JAMA Internal Medicine.
Hiking
Another outdoor activity Kelly enjoys? "I love hiking," she told The Telegraph. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:
- Building stronger muscles and bones
- Improving your sense of balance
- Improving your heart health
- Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems.
Riding Horses
One thing Kelly and Beth have in common? She loves horse riding. According to the American Heart Association, riding horses is great for your health. Not only does it boost cardiovascular health, but it builds core strength, burns calories, and lowers blood pressure. It is also great for your mental health as it helps relax you.

Yoga
She also does "yoga occasionally," she told The Telegraph. "I'm no Gwyneth Paltrow," she confesses, revealing she does it "more for my mind than anything else." Harvard Health maintains that getting your zen on can help you keep weight off. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."
No Smoking
Beth smokes, but Kelly doesn't. "I don't smoke, so all those cigarettes are herbal cigarettes," she told ET. "I hate them so much, and he [Taylor Sheridan] has it in the script when she's smoking, and when she takes a drag, it's all written," she revealed. "I'm trying to pitch him an idea that she gets addicted to Nicorette gum."
Not Paying Attention to "The Noise"
Kelly protects her mental health. "I don't participate in the noise in any way. I stay out of it. The only safe place for me is at work—and then at home with my husband. Very boring," Reilly told Town and Country. "It can become a cyclone of bulls**t and fakeness, and I know I won't find my worth in that."
